I've been making a playlist of the Conventional Weapons songs as we get them, and then listening to just those on repeat, for stretches while I'm in the car, and if I'm doing dishes or something, and it's definitely made me appreciate Ambulance and Gun. more than I did, and while it hasn't made me really appreciate where they would fit in with Boy Division and Tomorrow's Money on an album, I can see more now how they grew out of the same place. And then Gerard linked us to Zero Zero, and, more because it would make it easier to find in my iTunes than anything else, I added it to the CW playlist. And, totally unexpectedly, I feel like it ties Number One and Number Two together somehow.

Like really totally unexpectedly. I've been trying for the last twenty minutes to put my finger on even one way why so that I could make this post and sound even a little bit articulate, and then I decided to just start writing and see where that took me, but I still have nothing. Which is a problem for me being a music fandoms, really--my whole life, pretty much all I've had to say about music was either, "I like that," or "I don't like that," with the occasional foray into "that might grow on me."

So idk. Do you think I'm crazy? do you agree? as my us history teacher used to say, comments? criticisms? witticisms? Or any other thoughts on these boys in this band?

Hello!

My mom is grilling me mercilessly about what would be a good Florida vacation that didn't cost an arm and a leg, for two adults of a grandparently age, two adults in their 30s, and two kids ages 3.5 and 5. She's weeping at the cost of Disney, and frankly at the idea of spending so much time in the park with kids who aren't old enough to get the most out of it. She also loves the beach. She wants to rent a house rather than do hotel rooms.

Do any of you have any thoughts by any chance? My sum total of Florida knowledge is that it sucked royally to be taken there in a rainy February instead of going to the Sadie Hawkins dance with my boyfriend when I was fourteen. Also, thanks to Burn Notice, Miami has lots of spy activity. Though I suspect this second thing might be not strictly true.

Thank you in advance ♥♥

Hello!

this is probably a stupid time of day to be posting this, but it's when I remembered, so.

Have any of you been to a show at Hollywood Bowl? If you have, would you mind leaving me a comment about the experience? Not so much what you saw (though I am happy to read about that too), but what your experience of parking was like, or what your impression was of walking in, or finding your seats, what the view was like, any little details you can think of to give verisimilitude to a scene I'm stupidly setting in a place I've never been. (mostly because canonically the band is going to be performing there, and not at the two venues I HAVE been to in LA, so.)

Help a writer out? *winning smile*

I know what I feel like I write over and over, but I'm curious if that's what others see. And so, a meme:

If I made Cinderella, the audience would immediately be looking for a body in the coach. — Alfred Hitchcock

When I write a story, what do you immediately look for?

So I watched the pilot of the re-cast Being Human, and I didn't like it at all. I actually liked the new actors a lot, but I felt like they took everything I liked about the original pilot and replaced it with lots and lots of telling rather than showing. It was mostly tedious and irritating. Does it get better? Should I watch more or just send the discs back and watch something else instead? Given I've cut back on my TV watching by about 80% in the last six months, I don't feel like watching things just to watch them. I am thinking of cutting back to one disc at a time from Netflix anyway, and am kind of addicted to Burn Notice at the moment.

Thoughts?

Thank you to the lovely ladies who sent me milk and cookies, and also recycling Frank, and puppies! I fear I have been remiss with the appreciation :(

I went and got a portable (as opposed to desk-top) external HD last night, and have managed to clear 15 gig of space on my laptop. I'm hoping to fill it with music in the next few days. Trouble being, I hate hate hate putting CDs on iTunes. I don't know why, but it's one of my computing nightmares. *is determined*

Today is show-us-your-glitz day over at [livejournal.com profile] more_is_more. There are eyeshadow tutorials, too. Come play with us! :D

As you might have noticed, I'm doing [livejournal.com profile] mmom again this year. That's 30 masturbation fics in 30 days. I'm trying to do 30 different character/pairings, for reasons best known to, well, possibly no one. If anyone wants to give me a character or pairing and a (short) masturbation prompt, I'd love it. No guarantees that I'll write it, but I'll do my best to lure the plot bunnies forward if I'm familiar with the fandom. I've already done Sam/Jess, Brady/Sam, Dean/Sam, Trixie (Deadwood), Adam/Tommy, Kensi (NCIS:LA), Merlin/Arthur, Neal/Peter and Kirk/Spock. I can repeat characters and fandoms, just not in the same combination. So I can do Sam/Dean, but not Dean/Sam again. Thank you! (further clarification: these can be total solo missions, ie: character not thinking about anyone, just wanking or thinking about wanking, or they can be a single character fantasizing about anyone at all, or they can be two people taking part in some voyeurism or mutual masturbation)

I hope this Monday is being kind to you all, and that you're being kind to yourselves. ♥

So. Who is writing the Sulu/Chekov ice skating AU? The one where Sulu wants to train with the best coach in the world, and so goes to Russia, and Chekov doesn't want to train, much less pair, with the strange Japanese boy. Until he meets him, that is. :D
