So. Who is writing the Sulu/Chekov ice skating AU? The one where Sulu wants to train with the best coach in the world, and so goes to Russia, and Chekov doesn't want to train, much less pair, with the strange Japanese boy. Until he meets him, that is. :D

OMG SO BRILLIANT. oh now I want a whole olympics au. with Jim as some wise ass hot shot snowboarder. or wait. possibly luge because those people are CRAZY. and Uhura and Gaila are best friends/rivals in women's downhill. I don't know what Spock would do. part of me thinks he should be a figure skater but really all I can think is that he would say "this much ice is illogical"

I did not sign up, because I cannot commit myself to anything else that isn't my novel this year. ~~but if I end up writing this plot bunny that is clamouring in my brain and won't shut up, I'll let you know.~~

That icon of Gaila actually totally reminds me of the women's snowboarder who fucked up in the last olympics? or whatever they were talking about. I never saw any of the last winter olympics. The brits don't seem that interested in it for some reason. (possibly the lack of mountains and snow in their country?)

It's because we get enough humiliation at the real Olympics, without adding in all the sports that we'll never be good at because you have to go to another country to do them.

Now, if they had a sport that was something to do with rain at the winter olympics, we'd totally pwn that. Maybe singing in the rain with umbrellas...

okay so I spent a RIDICULOUS amount of time at work today thinking about this.

ahahahha Gaila totally is Lindsey Jacobellis! I can hear the interviews now. "Gaila what happened out there?" "I fell."

I love the suggestion below that Scotty is a curler! perfect.

Rand is in whatever sport Jim is and they have an adorable brother/sister relationship. well not always adorable to Rand who frequently wants to kick his ass. :)

loveflyfree's ideas for the rest of them, too. :p I'd immediately thought of Jim for luge. Or maybe even a speed skater! Spock could possibly be the demanding coach or the Olympic official that Jim clashes with. XD And of course, Bones is the Olympic medic that has to patch up Jim's stupid ass after he wipes out and tears himself up.

But yes, Sulu and Chekov, pairs skating! \O/ DEFINITELY. ^_____^

omg. my brain has started in on all this world building of a Russian Sporting Federation, that has all these crazy rules, and Pavel is chaffing under them, and doesn't understand why anyone would want to come TO Russia, and he has his eye on this slightly older Russian skater, and he's been planning on marrying him and skating with him since he was 11, and then they force Hiro on him, and.... yeah. I HAVE TOO MUCH ELSE TO DO.

And OH! Scotty? Totally a curler, obsessed with angles and friction coefficients and angular momentum. XD And Cupcake would have to be on the US mens Hockey team. :p I suddenly have this scene in my head of all the athletes partying it up, the rambunctious Americans with the Scottish curling team and the figure skaters and ladies skiers sort of watching all the chaos when Jim (of course) mixes it up with Cupcake, and Bones has to patch him up, AGAIN. XD Damn, this stuff should be all over our f-lists! WHY ISN'T IT!? O_O
