I just did a quick little add up of the first 50 or so offerer-confirmed donations on help_haiti and it's over $2,300. And pinkfinity reported the first 35 or so mod-confirmed ones totaled $1500. I think this is going to be AMAZING way beyond the amazing I was imagining back on the 13th.

Also, I am SO EXCITED by the requests by both my winners. I was going to be happy to write whatever people wanted, even if it went out of my writer's glee-zone, but OMG they both want things that have me TWIRLING WITH HAPPY. win/win/win!!!!!!!! I am also super happy with the item I won. I am buzzing with excitement.

Sadly, I now need to drive 30 miles through the world-ending storms we are having, in order to be in my apartment when the woman buying my sofa turns up. But I can get some more packing (most of the rest of it?) done, and then there is just the cleaning and the moving of the rest of the boxes/furniture left to do. Nice men with physically active jobs and young, strong arms and backs are helping with that.

Thanks to jadesfire2808, I read a very interesting article this morning about why aid organizations need our money rather than our extra clothes/food/medicines. While I have known this was true, I never really thought about the logistics of it before, and the author, Claire Durham of the British Red Cross, explains it very clearly.

Speaking of giving money, the auctions over at help_haiti close tomorrow at noon EST. Here is a time zone converter if you don't have an easy way to figure out what that means for you where you are. Get your bids in :D I'm offering original femslash here and fan fiction here.

In less charitable news, Friday Night Lights continues to be absolutely amazing and knock my socks off every single damn time. I am excited to have DirecTV again so I can have it on my DVR. Also, White Collar is back tonight. Yay! And there is a certain show back on Thursday, right? Am I the only one who is both excited and nervous/scared?

I'm having the devil's time writing today, but I did get a decent amount of housework done, so that is something.

I am spending today packing, but I dreamed that I made a second offer on help_haiti and so I woke up and figured I'd better. Original fiction this time.
