I saw this over on a friend's journal, and realized that I haven't done it since I went on my road trips last year. It's looking pretty different now! I haven't spent a night in every one of these states, but I've eaten a meal there. And I've spent the night in a lot of them...

Looking at this, I really feel like I've really seen a lot of the country!

I spent last night catching almost up on SPN. I watched the last three episodes, so I've only last night's to watch now. I enjoyed them all much more than I did the first half of this season, and LOL MISHA COLLINS. I also watched Monday night's Castle, and just have to say again that I am SO FREAKING GLAD this show exists. It's hilarious without being a comedy and Nathan and Stana have the most amazing chemistry, and it's exciting and moves me to tears sometimes but not too often, and just... yeah. I enjoy it. Also loving White Collar and Southland like air.

aaaaaand I've just realized that my kitchen clock is five minutes slow, and I am seriously running late for work. bbl!

First: Adam fans on my flist... If you haven't joined [livejournal.com profile] more_is_more yet, head on over there and see a picspam of Adam's show at Heaven last night in London. Speaking of [livejournal.com profile] more_is_more we need some more Johnny fans over there to up the Johnny input. Bring us your vids and picspams!

I was going to have a very accomplished day today. Instead I managed to beta a fic, answer some comments, and screw around on the internet a lot. Oh, and uninstall and re-install flash player after photobucket crashed my firefox.

But. There's still time to clean my desk off before dinner, and maybe even get started with the printing of my thesis. I can use the "preliminary" pages as a test run for the fancy-schmancy paper.

Damn you Castle for not airing a new episode last night, which means the finale will be airing while I'm on my road trip. *crosses fingers for viewing*

So! I've been branching out on the TV front, and watching things that my flist has suggested.

I said already that I tried Sugar. I loved the first season a whole very lot, and am liking the second season a lot less. I still love and get all heartclenchy over all the scenes filmed in Brighton, but I'm finding Kim (and actually all the characters) pretty obnoxious this second season, and so I've totally stalled, and am only up to 2.05.

I also tried Wiseguy. It was, as advertised, INSANELY slashy. And I definitely didn't hate it. But I am also a total crime/cop show addict, and I am way too used to the pacing and tropes of modern cop shows, and find going back to the 80s kind of ... tiring, maybe? Each episode felt like it was two hours long and very little seemed to happen in that time. So after the first three I decided now was not the time.

United States of Tara I'm loving, as I said the other day. I'm crazy into the son. I think he's awesome. Plus, I have an automatic love for anyone who was on Northern Exposure. I cannot help it. John Corbett makes me glee. And omg, the daughter is so fab! And awful! in that way that only teenagers can manage. Plus, Toni Colette = ♥ for me.

Then, last night, I finally decided to try Skins. OMG WHAT? I was glued to my TV for hours, watching all nine episodes of the first season with nary a break. I feel like if I let it, this show could own my soul. I'm just not that interested in letting it. Tony (played by Nicholas Hoult of About a Boy and A Single Man) reminds me SO MUCH of my first (and really only) boyfriend. S wasn't quite that much of a dick, but he had a similar vibe going on as a teenager. And he was charming and charismatic as hell, and sexy, and super brilliant smart for schoolwork. *sigh*

Plus, Southland is back with new episodes, and still very awesome. The other day [livejournal.com profile] ethrosdemon linked to this Southland pimp post if you want a much better explanation than I could give of why it is so awesome.

Also still loving Castle, being sad that White Collar is nearly done for the season, liking but not loving Chuck's new season, missing Parker and Hardison, thinking Criminal Minds is getting better and better, wanting Friday Night Lights to be on still, wishing Heroes were just the Sylar-and-Peter-have-wall-slamming-sex show, wondering why I still watch House, absolutely adoring Sam and G and the gang on the ridiculous NCIS: LA, wanting more Abby on NCIS, shipping Lindsay/Danny on CSI: NY, wanting more Cat Willows on CSI, slowly making my way through Monk on DVD, waiting not very patiently for Supernatural to come back, and wondering why I find it so hard to get any writing done.

I'm pretty sure that Castle is pretty much my dream television show. First, it's a cop show. Which is pretty much my favorite genre (books and TV). Second, it has Nathan Fillion who is HILARIOUS. Third, it has a really, really awesome father daughter relationship. Fourth, it has Stana Katic, who is also funny in a much more subtle and thoroughly enjoyable way, and who is stunningly gorgeous to boot. Fifth, it has Ryan and Esposito who are adorable together. Sixth, the premise makes no sense at all and yet every episode holds together brilliantly from beginning to end. Seventh, Castle's mother is hilarious.

According to Reuters.com,
LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - NBC's "Kings" is on the move again, this time to summer. The contemporary King David drama, which stars Ian McShane, had been pulled off the air after drawing low ratings in two primetime slots. The network originally scheduled the midseason drama for Thursday nights, but launched it on Sundays and then moved it to repeat-laden Saturday night after four episodes. Starting this Saturday, NBC will air reruns of "Law & Order: SVU," freshman cop drama "Southland" and "Law & Order." "Kings" will return to its Saturday 8 p.m. slot June 13 and will finish its run through July 25.

I do not understand how they expect a show to get a following if they keep dicking around with airing it. grrrr.

In other TV news, I am now totally BFF-shipping Cal Lightman's (from Lie to Me) daughter and Rick Castle's daughter. I want a fic or a movie or a spin-off where they meet at summer camp and bond over their challenging but largely awesome fathers. Also they are both TOTALLY adorable.
