So Tommy tweeted earlier in response to this tweet:
@TommyJoeRatliff what was your favourite toy when you were little?

@bumbledee76 i had a power wheels K.I.T. from Knight Rider. I thought I was the shit driving it up and down the block.

And Adam has mentioned that the toy he most wanted when he was little was a Power Wheels.

and pigtail78 brought up kiddie fic where Tommy offers to let Adam drive his car. I didn't take it to the innuendo place, if you can believe that. :D

He wasn't supposed to bother other kids for their toys, he was supposed to wait for them to share on their own, but the new kid had a Power Wheels. A KITT one. Adam had to touch it. He had to.

"Hey," he said, walking over to where the new kid was pulling a clump of grass out of his car's wheel.

"Oh." the kid said. "Hey?"

"I'm Adam," Adam said. Even if he was being bad and asking another kid to play with his toy, he could still say his name like he was supposed to with boys and girls he didn't know.

"Tommy," Tommy said. He sounded like maybe he wasn't sure that was his name. Or like he wasn't sure he was supposed to be talking with Adam. "I just moved here," he said.

"We moved here when I was one." Adam had his hands in his pockets so he didn't touch the car by mistake before he even asked.

"I gotta Power Wheels for Christmas," Tommy said. And then, before Adam could even say anything, added, "You wanna go in it?"

Adam's mouth dropped open like the way his mom told him he'd catch flies if he wasn't careful. "Really?" he asked, thinking the new kid must be kidding.

"Really. You can ride it if you want to. And then my mom can make us some hot chocolate if you want."

Adam loved hot chocolate. He was pretty sure his mom would let him have some at Tommy's house, but she'd probably want to meet his mom first. "I could ride it down to my house, right there. It's that white one. And ask my mom about the hot chocolate maybe?"

"Okay," Tommy said. "Cool. I could come with you, and maybe I can ride it back to my house."

Adam decided that sounded fair.
