nailpolish picspam

I've been extra adventurous with my fingernails on this trip, and photobucket is actually working for me right now (what horribleness has happened to it, btw. is it not working for other people or is it just me?), so you get some pictures. I'm sure you're thrilled.



Silver with hot pink ends and pink glitter tips


Green over black with multi/silver glitter tips


candy pink glaze over silver, with chocolate tips (you can't tell they're pink in this picture, but they are *g*)

and the gorgeous necklace [livejournal.com profile] tattooedraven gave me :D

I couldn't get a decent picture of it on me, so you get it on the table.

I didn't wear any eye makeup yesterday, and felt so funny every time I looked in the mirror. So today I totally did eyeshadow and everything. This makeup/nail lark is fun, but more difficult than not doing it!

Ooooooooooohh!! Glittery nails... ~O_O~ *stares*

I have yet to work up the energy to do my nails this summer, and am rather hampered by having thrown out all my old polishes, including the glittery ones. Maybe soon, though!

Polish only lasts so long in the bottle. But on the plus side, 99c polish seems to work just as well as the expensive stuff :D I'm having SO MUCH FUN. Art! on my hands! \o/

I have a huge bag of nail polish that I have saved for like twenty years worth! I take them out and shake them to keep them from drying up. -- as a hippie (and guitar player) it's kind of my vice!! so thanks very much for sharing that when you are pressed to pack for traveling across country, nail polish is a priority! :D How many different colors do you have with you? I particularly like the silver and pink -- I should try that!

I went and got myself one of those little Caboodles boxes and everything. :D

I have:
hot for chocolate
flame opal (which is a hot pink glaze)
soul mate (which is a mid-lavender color)
black
fuchsia bling bling
fiji (dark purple)
237 glitz (the pink glitter)
pink frost (which is more a pale lavender)
platinum chrome
san francisco (which is the green)
starry silver glitter
petite pink
and my top/base coat

That leaves just enough room for a small bottle of remover, and then my buffer, file, and baggie of cotton balls fits on top and my cuticle cream slots into the corner. :D

I loved the silver and pink, though glitter chips much more easily than the flat colors (despite being almost impossible to get off)

I've never gotten a caboodle but it sounds awesome. I love a well-organized kit almost as much as CHOCOLATE. :)

My colors live in this enormous bath&body tote bag and take up almost the whole thing.

But it would be fun to have a caboodle with only the most mouthwatering colors in it!! I have to admit, knowing your remover is packed in a caboodle sets my mind at ease, after the olive oil broke all over our book box, 17 years ago!! :)

also I like your beautiful ring!

So, is there a correlation between places/people/experiences and nail style? You'd mentioned that you're learning a lot about yourself along the way, and I wondered if the nails are a reflection of those experiences.

Well, I started my trip with the silver and pink, did the green after spending the day in the gardens at the Getty (I was wanting something dark and dramatic), and then yesterday I wanted something very different from the green. :D (the pink/brown is quite similar to the pedi style my host in LA had, though)

I think the fact of wanting to do my nails is more the thing than any of the particular styles.

I am happy and full of energy. Even when I'm exhausted. It's really rather awesome :D

I was worried that I would be quite stressed and anxious on this trip. But even things that should make me stressed and anxious (or rather would have made me stressed and anxious) are totally possible to cope with. :D

I used to have green sparkly nail polish. I've also worn black, yellow, blue, silver and a lot of other unusual colors. I've got on bright cherry red today.

I remember when it only seemed possible to wear red or white. And I was shocked to find friends wearing green and blue. Now I love all those kinds of "crazy" colours. Nail polish is so much fun!

I like putting my "Up all Night" blue over black and your green looks FANTASTIC over the black! It reminds me of another flist lady who dyes her hair the prettiest green ever and it just suits her perfectly. ^_^;

I'm so glad you made it by Santa Fe and that you could stay the night. Oh wait that sounds like we had a one night stand. >.>'
