I have been tragically hampered in my Adam consumption by the fact that I cannot really watch any streaming video on my computer. Youtube etc. stills the picture every few seconds. This was unacceptable to

dreamlittleyo who wanted me to watch a Springsteen video, and she suggested trying a different browser. I only had IE, because I just use Firefox, and my IE is too old apparently to even work with Youtube at all. So I downloaded Chrome. and OMG SMOOTH VIDEO. I am in seventh heaven. I don't know that I want to give up firefox which generally has everything set up how I like it, but I am SUPER HAPPY about using Chrome for streaming things.

I used to be the same way about Firefox and not wanting to change it (so many extensions!) but I had to switch to Chrome cause Win7 hated Firefox. Am really happy with it now, it's very light and loads a lot faster than Firefox (we are not even mentioning IE here LOL).

If you install Chrome Beta you can also get some of those extensions back!

omg, IE is appalling in so many ways. But I will have to explore Chrome more. I have so many little things that work just how I want them on firefox so I'll have to see how things on Chrome work before I consider changing entirely. Double browsing will be okay for now, I think :D

I ♥ Chrome. It's my default. It loads faster than Firefox and it's just generally faster all around. ♥

but my tab kit and lj addons and everything like that! I'm going to investigate it. so far I'm not a fan of how the tabs look, but we'll see! *double browses for a while*

Hee, Chrome can't cope with lots and lots and lots of tabs, that's true. Twenty and it starts to slow right down, so if you have a lot of tabs open at any one time it probably isn't going to be a regular browser for you.

I have a couple of Chrome extensions, but there isn't the same choice as on Firefox. I use AdThwart and WOT for security, Chromed Bird for Twitter, and Webpage Screenshot for screenshots. But the really NIFTY extension I love is IE Tab. So nifty!

But, having said that about less choice, it is a newer browser and there's greater choice every week. And... I never used addons in FF because it seemed to slow right down, but there's no obvious impact on Chrome. Weird!

ETA: I told a lie. There's loads of choice for Chrome now! There wasn't the last time I checked. Hmph.

Chrome is fab. I actually cannot use it on my home laptop but I use it exclusively for work and I ♥ it. YAY for streaming video.

streaming video is VITAL TO MY ADAM-LOVING LIFE.

Nope, too old. I have MacBook from 2006? IIRC. I bought it after I finished my MSW (gift to self!). My FF works pretty well though but I still prefer Chrome when I can use it.

My first laptop was in celebration of finishing my midwifery dissertation. It might have been more useful BEFORE I did my dissertation, but whatever! :D Back in 2005. But it was totally dead by 2007. On its third hard drive, and just before I moved back to CA, the power cord/power input died completely. That's what happens when you buy the bottom-of-the-line Dell and use it 16-18 hours a day, I guess.

I would love a MacBook, but it's not to be while I have no income :|

When my computer was stolen a couple years ago, Yo sent me some DVDs filled with music to help replace everything I'd lost. Bruce had a whole DVD of his own. It was amazing. :D

That really does sound amazing! Oh wow, so I was just friended on Facebook by a roommate from sophomore year of college, and her favorite music section says "classic rock (not springsteen)" and I sat there for five minutes going "what...what...the only way that is possible is if he is not 'classic' because he's not past or relegated - he's ETERNAL." And then I lol'd at myself.

PSHAW, the fact that they released it as a DVD in the first place (a two-disc set, no less) when the video version came out in the early nineties tells you I am by NO MEANS the only one who owns THAT sucker. ;p

I meant that you managed to fill a whole DVD with his MUSIC. :D A DVD holds a LOT of music.

rivers_bend linked me to the post (it was a brilliantly nostalgic moment, I haven't watched that video in a very very long time), and then I decided against it because it would've been all HI I AM A RANDOM PERSON OUT OF NOWHERE COMMENTING TO YOUR JOURNAL YAY BRUCE.
