Glitter, glitter everywhere

Hello!

It has come to my attention (thank you [livejournal.com profile] pixel_0) that I haven't been able to find a sort of "general glittery person of awesome" comm. like not so much a comm related just to Adam Lambert or just to Johnny Weir, or heck, even just to Lady Gaga. But, a general comm where if you want to post picspams of any of these glittery people, you do. If you want to talk about how Johnny Weir finally friended Adam on Twitter, you do. If you want to talk about how all your coworkers/friends/family/cats think glitter is the herpes of art supplies while you think it's fabulous, you do.

if any of you know of such a comm and you've been keeping it from me, please do speak up :D If you don't, any chance you'd want to help mod one with pix and me? The world is full of shiny right now, and I don't want to compartmentalize if I don't have to :D

anyone? Bueller?

It is sorely needed, I think. There is a lot out there that's very shipper-oriented, or cliquish or strict about what is on or off topic, but there doesn't seem to be anything more general-purpose squee about shiny glittery boys and girls who make you happy. Something must be done!

There will be absolutely no requirements to love all things sparkly (for instance, I draw the line at sparkling vampires *g*). If you love Johnny, or Adam, or Tommy Joe, or Gaga, or whoever next month's glitterbaby is going to be, this would be the comm for you :D

Well, as artist, I've collected glitter among other magpie goodies, lace and velvet and so on etc. The glitter rarely gets used but it looks pretty!

A little low-key is good, although that's awfully hard when faced with the extra pretty! Balance is good! A place with icons and fic and squee and pics would be awesome!

It is so thrilling to realise that I am again living in a time where glitter and fabulousness is liberating people from the more mundane aspects of life.

I need to rewatch Velvet Goldmine, and glee at the lineage from Oscar Wilde to Curt Wild to Adam Lambert.

Yes! I love it so much. and I cannot tell you how much I love your phrase glee at the lineage from Oscar Wilde to Curt Wild to Adam Lambert. It seems like so many people are squeeing about how Adam or Johnny or whoever is a special sparkling unicorn, and he IS. But he's a sparkling unicorn standing on the shoulders of many sparkling unicorns who came before, the same way we all are, and I love that!

[livejournal.com profile] ontd_ai is great for up- to- the- minute stuff but it's huge, anarchical, and just plain scary at times.

I think there's a crying need for something a little smaller, and a little less, how should I put it... capslocked.

YES. (she capslocks) A little less capslocked is good. I also could not care less about all things AI that aren't Adam Lambert. I am enjoying [livejournal.com profile] teamcockbert and [livejournal.com profile] teamratbert, too, but just long for something a little broader in scope and in types of people it attracts. I want icons and fic and picspams posted by lots of different people, and discussions and also squee, of course, but about whoever people are getting glitterpation from: not just Adam.

There are enough Adam fans in the Supernatural fandom alone to give the group a substantial membership.

Placing conversation on par with the sparkliness would mean that pics would be placed under cuts? This would probably necessitate *some* moderation.

Yeah, Scissor Sisters are going to have an cd out late next month, I think they are wonderfully sparkly.
