First, Dean's glorious, gorgeous wink at Sammy:

with that little tiny upturn of his lips that says, "I love you, and everything is going to be okay; your faith in me is justified. Push shoved and I'm stepping up to the plate."

then, Dean's wink at Castiel after the "last time someone looked at me like that I got laid" line.

with accompanying sneer and "You wish you could be tapping this fine ass, but you're so not." I'm pretty sure that dismissive wink is the real reason Cas got quite so BAMFy in the alley.

This episode totally played to my slash glasses where everyone is in love with Dean, but Dean is only in love with his Sammy. HEARTS IN MY EYES.

I loved that scene (former you mentioned not the latter) but that pic is just not flattering all blown up like that O.o;

Heh. I think he's lovely, even all blown up like that, but I'm older than Mr. Ackles. I have to be OK with more signs of aging than that, and fortunately for my comfort, I am.

As a mark of how amazing this episode was, I didn't think to myself a single time during the first time I watched it last night, OMG JENSEN IS SO PRETTY. On second viewing, however, I might have thought that every 1.2 seconds :D :D

YES THIS.

I got kind of misty eyed over the moment with Sam just because... that look said SO MUCH to me (TO SAM) and that's why it was so freaking amazing.

And honestly I hadn't even realized he winked at Cas there. But even with the Dean/Cas stuff in the show, it was really obvious and showy, where the stuff between Sam and Dean is just more intimate.

I really need to watch this episode about a hundred more times.

Jensen is SUPER amazing. That wink to Sam could have gone wrong in a thousand ways, and he just freaking NAILED it. Unreal.

I didn't notice the wink at Cas on first viewing, probably because I was flailing at my screen typing out the dialogue, but when I watched it for a second time while I was reading ep reactions, I caught it and was ALL OVER IT :D

Jensen Ackles is pretty! and a very good actor! (The rest of the cast is amazingly rockin' too!)

SO. MUCH. Putting my shipper hat aside, what those two winks really show is how freaking AMAZING Jensen is with the tiniest facial expressions. I'm pretty sure he couldn't do "smell the fart" acting if he tried. He manages squillions of emotion with minute shifts in his features. *adores him quite a lot*

I see it, and I totally agree. It has to be about Sam, or what the hell show is it? But to give Castiel his due, I don't think you can directly compare a moment during Dean's long dark night to the moment the lights came on again. Dean was sneering and dismissing everything that came near him, poor miserable bastard.

Oh I agree completely. Apart from how this shows that Jensen is utterly amazing and can emote with tiny shifts of the corners of his lips, this post is totally tongue in cheek :D

I have pretty much always had a perverse love for the idea of Dean feeling safe teasing Castiel with his sex-assness, figuring Cas is an angel so it's safe, and meanwhile Castiel is actually really pining. (perverse because it's a nightmare to live through from Castiel's perspective, and I wouldn't really wish it on him if he were real)

I am beginning to OT3 them. Which is saying a lot, given that I've never been interested in Dean/Cas. But that fight? Unf.

Though really, it's probably because of Misha, whom I love like burning.

In conclusion, YAY SHOW!

From a few Castiel episodes in I've always kind of had a thing about the huge unrequited love of Castiel for Dean, with an oblivious Dean who has no clue, and thus no compunction about using his assets to get what he wants.

Misha. Oh, man. He is a ridiculously fascinating man. and I'm totally convinced that he kissed Jensen in at least one of those wall-slamming takes, just to see what Jensen would do. :D

Absolutely absolutely absolutely - that wink turned me to JELLY. So much love and trust and emotion, so much of the big brother protectiveness I adore in Dean -- and my god, can Jensen convey a plethora of emotions with just a facial expression! Like you, I didn't even notice the Cas wink -- but I completely endorse your Misha-planted-one-on-Jensen during filming. Maybe we'll be lucky with the gag reel :)

The corner of Jensen's mouth is better at acting than half the people in hollywood, I think. He really is fantastic.

Jensen is just amazing! His facial expressions have me melting! He can be hilarious, melancholic, dangerous, angry, sad, confused, happy...just a tiny shift in his lips, eyes and brows, and woah!

Sam is Dean's and Dean is Sam's and no one can come between them. This is my truth and I'm sticking to it! :D
