So I may have been talking to dreamlittleyo tonight (YAY) and we may have been discussing how we had seen that AO3 meme floating around and were going to do it but forgot. So we decided that we should do it now, even though everyone has moved on to something else by now. Because that's how we roll apparently :D

I think? the idea is you list your top ten fics in AO3 sorted by hit count and then maybe discuss them a little if you want. If it's not, close enough.

1. Who Doesn't Like Girl on Girl? 5852 June 21, 2010
this story should NOT be my top-hit fic AT. ALL. it's short, not that great, and only pg-13. however, I did list Sasha Mallory (one of Adam Lambert's dancers in the Glam Nation tour) in the tags, and she was googling herself and... yeah. you can see where this is going. She tweeted a link to it. lots of people who had no idea fic even existed clicked it. Some of them stayed around in fandom. So that is something good that came out of it. :D

This has actually jumped from number 3 to number 2 spot since the last time I did a hitcount sort. It's my Adam/Tommy big bang from 2012 and I love it like air. I'm happy that if we only count the fic behind the fourth wall it's number one \o/

This is my Adam/Tommy big bang from last year. It was my attempt to tell the story of a relationship through pretty much nothing but kinky porn. I was pretty pleased with how it came out.

4. We're All Okay 2096 December 20, 2011
This was my first real fic in bandom, and it's really long and I wrote it in like five minutes. (okay maybe 3 weeks) It was one of those ones that I fell into headfirst and couldn't claw my way out and had no desire to. I was writing on my breaks at work, on buses, every morning and evening. I had no idea if anyone but me would read it given the high school AU thing and that I was new to fandom, but apparently people are :D

5. Crack it Open 2012 April 17, 2010
This is a mystery to me tbh. It's possibly the very first Adam/Tommy story I wrote, and I wrote it for the GLAAD gift bag fest on AO3. It's... short. and not great? in that way where I don't characterize the boys in my head that way at all anymore. I think it probably got most of its hits when the fest went live as it's been near the top of my count forever, though it's slowly dropping as I write longer stuff that surpasses it.

6. Be My Toy 1981 August 20, 2010
Most of the time I don't have particularly clear memories of writing any given fic. Probably because a lot of it gets done at my computer so there's a sameness, or because it takes a long time to write. But I wrote a lot of this fic in a Taco Bell somewhere between Seattle and Ashland when I was on my road trip. There's a stain from my double decker taco in my notebook.

7. Hard But Not Complicated 1872 June 21, 2010
another one from my early Adam days, before I'd seen them in concert and before the on-stage kisses got really rolling. This was prompted by Tommy's backbend onto Adam's chest. It looks like we've entered the realm of fics that have been on AO3 the longest but were posted there simultaneously (or close) with being posted on LJ. :)

this is one of the few 2010 fics that has more than a couple of kudos on it. I think that's because it's gotten a lot of hits in the last year rather than when I first posted it (before kudos were a thing). It's niche and kinky and I'm guessing from the influx of traffic recently that it came up in conversation somewhere. That's one of the things I love most about AO3. So many more reminders of fic I'd almost forgotten about \o/

this is one of only 3 "teen" rated fics in this list, and I credit its presence here mostly with the fact that it's the prequel to Hard... Complicated. Or maybe it's just me that mostly hangs around the archive for the porn...

10. In the Beached Margin of the Sea 1640 March 2, 2010
Another fic that I remember writing very clearly, even though it took me FOREVER to do it. I wrote it for dreamlittleyo who bought my services in Sweet Charity, and it was the first long fic I ever wrote. I have a tremendous soft spot for it, and given the genesis of me doing this meme at all, I feel like it's a very appropriate story to round things off with!

So there you have it. top ten by hitcount. In 'other things that interest me that it's easy to discover on AO3' news: out of 113 posted fics, one is >50k words, 3 are between 20k and 50k (plus one I co-wrote with dreamlittleyo, and 3 are between 10k and 20k. All the rest are under 10k. The fact that I can't even write a PWP without it topping 10k anymore is boggling to me.
