Happy Pride!

Today is Pride Sunday in San Francisco (and New York, and other places that didn't have their pride celebrations a different weekend entirely), and I'm actually in town for it this year! My parents are down there already, lining up with the PFLAG contingent, getting ready to march. I'm meeting up with miss_begonia later, to watch. I need to remember to get out my sunblock. And paint my toenails! :D

I'm so jealous! I couldn't get the day off work, so I'll be stuck inside making drinks while everyone else celebrates. :( Have fun though! At least there's a parade this year ;) No b.s. about a "lack of city permits".

I read this comment just moments after ordering a drink in a cafe from a girl who told me she was sad because she couldn't get off work to go to pride. It was very surreal! And I'm sorry you had to work today. I was sad to work yesterday so I couldn't go to Delores Park.

We actually saw girls throwing giant handsfull of giant glitter today. It was kind of awesome!

I always miss Pride in Phoenix because it's in April and I'm usually home visiting for my mom's birthday. I am sometimes sad that they don't do it at the same time as all the other big Pride celebrations, but then I'm grateful that they choose a time of year when it is not 120 degrees in the shade.

anyway those pictures are great. I especially love the second one.

and oh the ladies of firefly/serenity. how you make me happy.:)

Yeah, Pride when it's 120 in the shade sounds not only unfun, but impossible.

that second picture makes me happy. Weird to think she's in her late 50s or her 60s now.

just got back from SF pride just now. wonder if we saw eachother and didn't know it? I've belonged to PFLAG for years. :)

I was lurking behind the PFLAG booth for a little while, and then we went uptown to skip the crowds. I love pride, but it's kind of a lot after a while!
