The 80 questions (or 45 questions for the attentionally challenged ;P) meme that's been going around has made me very curious about something. How do you draw your hearts, people?

my hearts look like a C and a 7 squished together and don't meet at the bottom.

Mine are short and fat on the right and tall and skinny on the left. Sort of like a backwards C and a backwards 7 squished together, really :D

I kinda start halfway down on the right, then curve up to the left. So, um, kinda bi. Like me!

Thank you for the page of notebook paper that is now covered in hearts, by the way. ♥

so like you go down to the point and then up and do the humps last?

I like it! Unique! Unique makes me happy.

and curses! I totally was going to make a ticky box for "I needed to actually draw hearts to answer these questions"

I write right-handed, but I hold my knife and fork left-handed, and am ambidexterous with a computer mouse.

I so wish I were ambidextrous with a mouse. My left hand is deeply stupid.

Do Australians eat like the English (keeping their fork in the same hand and cutting with their dominant hand) or like Americans (swapping their fork to their dominant hand after cutting)?

HEEE. I had to ring a couple of people and ask them if they swap hands after cutting, because I feel like I am not a good yardstick what with being (mostly) right-handed and eating left-handed!

Australians (well, at least all the ones I know) keep their forks in the same hand after cutting - we don't switch to our dominant hand.

Can I just say that I find it REALLY WEIRD you guys cut your food then switch your fork over?! I didn't know you guys did this! o.O

I totally eat like a Brit (and an Aussie, apparently *g*) now, though I probably used to eat like an American. A lot of the Americans I know actually cut everything first, to save swapping and swapping and swapping. It is a huge waste of time and is quite odd. I don't know why it evolved that way!

ALSO, I wasn't automatically ambidextrous with a mouse; I had to LEARN, and it was HARD and SLOW and took me a while, but I had to because I had pretty bad RSI for a long time. Now I can swap over every month or two no worries and am as good with either hand!

Do you reconfigure the mouse so you forefinger click to left click and second finger click to right click? or did you learn to do different fingers with different hands? That is my main issue. I really only want to do it in the rarest and briefest occasions so it would not be worth it to reconfigure the mouse. But it's so hard to left click with my second finger!

posted by [identity profile] girlmostlikely.livejournal.com at 04:16am on 09/03/2010
Oh, no, I couldn't be bothered swapping the mouse buttons around! See, I am TOTALLY LAZY like I said in the meme. *g*

I don't have any difficulty with using my middle finger to left-click! Weirdness. My brain is obviously not normal. Or something.

I am s l o w l y learning to use the mouse with my left hand so it alleviates a lot of my shoulder pain, but aside from really bad writing/drawing I can do just about everything with my left hand as my right hand.

My hearts usually consist of Lesser Sigh and the number 3! :D

Being able to mouse both handed would be great. Even better if you're in pain on one side.

Most of my hearts look like that these days too! <3

I've been told I draw the worst casual hearts in the world: I start with the left loop (I'm right-handed), and then, from the bottom point, draw the pen back up through the middle to make the right loop. It makes for a bisected heart and I do it every. time. unless I'm really paying attention - at which point I'll just draw the right loop first, pick up the pen (UGH) and draw the left loop. My doodles are AS LAZY AS POSSIBLE.

I have drawn hearts like that when I am drawing lots of them. Mostly I don't though :)

I'm the only sad loser who's never drawn a heart.

You never had to draw them in school? We had to do them in second grade lots for some reason. I don't remember why, but I remember Pete Bilkman snatching the red crayon out of my hand and the teacher letting him keep it and telling me I should be nice and share.

posted by [identity profile] moorspede.livejournal.com at 06:17am on 09/03/2010
I don't think we were directed towards anything?

No! The red crayon was sacrosanct! I bet he didn't give it back, either.

I grew up between two brothers, survival meant not doing anything girly ;o)

I get right and left easily confused and clicked the wrong box (I wish I were kidding; I'm not). I'm right handed and draw the right side first, which is not the option I selected!

You can change your answer by clicking on the poll number thing at the top :D

but I don't know my left from my right either. I have to check which hand makes an L with my finger and thumb. :D

I think the bigger question, as demonstrated by this poll, is: why are there so few lefties in fandom?

There are people who only answered 45 of the questions?! WOW. Those people should be ashamed of themselves. (What, I got bored! And some of the questions were stupid. Do I like anybody? No, I hate the WORLD. I mean, that's a silly question. I edited! *g*)

I'm answering both that I am left-handed and that I am ambidextrous, because I'm difficult that way. :D I am a leftie who does a lot of things with the right hand, too. I use scissors, use the mouse, swing a tennis racket, bowl, swing a bat, ETC all with my right hand. Usually, it's because someone right-handed taught me. I once taught myself to write with both hands at the same time. It was WILD. I can no longer do this party trick. Sad!

those people are totally clever. some of those questions totally annoyed me. I should have just not answered them.

My ex could do that party trick, though at the same time the left hand was messier. If B just did one hand at a time, you couldn't tell the difference really.

I love lefties. they are my favorite. :D

Heh. I was going along with that meme and just starting saying 'bah, that's dumb. I'm skipping it.' And then I thought it made more sense to just delete them. And re-number them. Because that's the kind of girl I am. Order must be maintained!

I have pretty neat handwriting with my left. My writing with my right hand looks like a very enthusiastic six year old. If I concentrate very hard and go very slow, I can write well with the right hand. I was best at the writing at the same time thing at a chalkboard. I have NO IDEA why.

I drew a bunch of hearts just to see and they are adorable. The two humps are almost always exactly the same and the lines cross at the bottom every time. It's a happy thing to write a bunch of hearts!

YAY, I AM YOUR FAVORITE! \o/ (You're super cool, too!)

You know? of all the questions on that thing that was the one that I have actually thought about several times since!

Lefty here and I draw the left side first. Buuuuuuut...I do several things right handed (you kinda have to, it is seriously a right handed world).

One thing that helped me in college was that I 10-key right handed so I don't have to stop figuring to write! Bonus!

posted by [identity profile] rivers-bend.livejournal.com at 04:05am on 09/03/2010
It is a very right handed world. that is true. I always wanted to be left handed, though my left handed friends assured me that I didn't, because you could never find scissors or anything else.

Aaaah, 10 key. The one thing I miss about a desktop. Though I don't have to do nearly the amount of numbers work as I used to.

Leftie here, but I draw the right side first. YAY for weirdness. The left side always comes out taller <3

my left side is always taller, too. The right is short and plump and the left is tall and thin. Why is this so interesting to me? IDK :D

I lol'd when I saw the anatomical heart option, because that's honestly where my mind went first. Glad to know I'm not the only one...

I was SO not expecting anyone else to tick that box, because I totally thought it was just me. But yes. Very glad I'm not the only one! :D :D

You bitch. I had to draw, like, 10 hearts to answer that question properly, and I'm not even sure myself, now. I may never draw a heart instictually again. :)

But, for the perposes of your question, R handed, L side first.

Here's a question: When you walk, do you swing your arms opposite the leg that's steping forward, with the leg swinging forward, or in no particular rhythm?

posted by [identity profile] rivers-bend.livejournal.com at 11:25pm on 09/03/2010
SORRY! :D

I don't move my arms when I walk. Unless I'm doing it for like exercisey cardio reasons. And then I do opposite arm to forward foot. Otherwise they are still. Or holding my bag/coat/shopping/backpack/laptop/plate/glass.
