In other (and unrelated, I'm guessing) news:
The California Supreme Court is due to hand down their decision regarding Proposition 8 today. It's frustrating being three hours ahead. I just want to know now.
eta decision handed down. Prop 8 stands, ie marriage laws in CA continue to be grossly unfair. Those already married under the original court decision made last year are still married. ie 36,000 queer people in California have "extraordinary" rights that no other same-sex couples are yet afforded.

We live in interesting times.

I am keeping my fingers crossed for Prop 8 today! We have a friend who got married in CA during the interval that it was allowed. HOPEFULLY!!!

i have my fingers crossed too. I am not at all optimistic, but I think that's in large part because I was actually optimistic at the time of the election, and got so badly burned. At the very least, I dearly hope they won't void the marriages that did happen, because that would be horrible.

It's what I thought the courts would do, but it is still very disheartening. Not least because now the bigots are gloating and being complete asshats.

They really couldn't dissolve the legal marriages. But it would be lovely if they could have reversed the proposition.

He is Chuck! I love Chuck. And Zachary Levi. He is made of awesome. I am also getting keener and keener on Zachary Q the more I see about him. HOW IS HE SO AWESOME, JAMES? HOW???

I have also decided that he reminds me SO MUCH of my awesome friend in England who I used to go clubbing with.

What happens next re: Prop 8, River? Does an amendment proposal have to wait for another election?

I really really hope that it NEVER gets back to another vote. There is no way that the general public should be allowed to vote on the rights of a minority group. It's disgusting and so wrong. But yes, the plan is to put it back on the ballot in 2010 or 2012.
