WTF? THEY SHOT DEREK! In such an understated and subtle way. Well. As subtle as you can be with a bullet to the middle of your forehead.

John's face when Savannah asks him if Derek was his friend. god. that broke my heart. I am not even fastforwarding through the ads because I don't want this to end...

Indeed. I was weeping as they buried Derek in the end.

Did I see a rumour that next week is the last ever episode? I will be VERY UNHAPPY if this is the case.

I think EVERYONE had that reaction to Derek's death. I was SO shocked by it, I believe they did it though because BAG has gotten a lead role on a show for next season, so he'd be leaving T:SCC.

Right now they are advertising next week as the season finale, but since there has been no word on a pickup for next season as of yet and ratings are looking pretty poor it's likely it will be the series finale as well.

I actually rewound, sure I had missed something. Like another person I care nothing about stepping in front of Derek and taking the bullet for him. D: D:

I am pleased for him that he got a lead role, but wow. After Charlie last week I wasn't prepared for that. I really hope that the push to save the show will do something. Why does fox keep things that are just a hot mess, and not even in the good way, like Prison Break, but lose things so clever and full of heart like SCC? *stabs their logic*

I screamed my head off, between the shock of it and losing the chAracter. Just WOW. They really pulled it off well.

And yes, very unlikely a renewal on horizon for TSCC

I was certain I had missed something and rewound, but sadly, no, he was gone. It was brilliantly done.

WHY DOES FOX HATE ME SO MUCH? Why do they hate intelligent programming? Why do they ruin every half-way decent show like Bones by turning it into something it shouldn't be, and cancel everything they can't ruin?

I'm right there with you, sister. I reacted almost immediately post-ep and it was essentially the same as your reaction.

Also, I've been watching save scc here on LJ, and the ratings have actually been pretty steady, with some significant increase when the show was first threatened, so it's possible it might get a third season.

i really really hope it gets a third season. It is so brilliant, and they keep horror shows like Prison Break, which started out well, but went RIGHT OFF in the third season, ruin shows like Bones, and then just dump awesome things like this. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THEM?

I did some research. Because of the ratings spike, Fox has delayed making a decision until May, so there's still time for us to stream the show online, etc., to show our support. There's a whole campaign afoot on LJ, too, if you're interested. I've been levering my kids into DVRing it. *grins*

Maybe I'll set the show to stream on my laptop while I am busy doing other things. I cannot stand Fox's shit-ass viewer. But I want them to know I want the show!
