I didn't watch all of it, because I started too late to get it done before this week started, but I did catch that Sam had gone up to the attic to investigate while Dean stayed in the salt circle, which I'd missed last time. Also, Danny was hiding with Ted, and only Ted runs back, and he seems totally uninterested that he's lost his nephew. And the parents don't seem to be blaming him. I wonder if we're supposed to though, negating part of our sadness at his death. And Dean's 'every day' still gets me right in the chest. And Jensen is really good at disgusted dismay. and at staying bloodless while carrying a body with a hole through his neck.
Sioux City Magic Week. awesome :) Man in a cape, not so awesome. Why is he such a jerk? Yeah. Leave the old guy alone.
haha, What a douche bag? You're just jealous. Oh, it appears you are.
Crossing yourself? Really? That's not what I would have expected.
asshole guy getting poked full of holes? didn't expect that either :D
Yes, Dean, famous for douchebaggery. and am I wrong that that guy is Criss Angel?
OMG SAMMY HAD A MAGIC PHASE? THERE WILL BE FIC! FANDOM, BRING ME THE FIC!
BUNNY! How adorable is that bunny? with his tufty hair.
Old guy is going to kill his best friend? Or does he not know that's how it works? Or will it kill someone else? *worries*
Ok, now even I'm asking, where the heck is Sam? And I'm not one to be asking that usually.
except, HOLY FUCK they sent Dean to a master? I should have seen that coming, really. His reaction of throwing up in his mouth a little doesn't seem like the reaction of a torturer in hell, or one who had been tortured. I would think he'd be more upset and less squicked.
Sam has a new mystery problem that isn't the 'psychic stuff'? Ruby is NOT happy with Sammy. He's not happy back. I want more information, people! Demons, whatever.
THEY DID NOT JUST DO THAT. A Brother act with rings and doves and rings? LIKE A WEDDING? *DIES*
Ok, I hooted at the rope snake. I can't help it.
"It ends bloody or sad, that's just the life." *cries* Oh, Sam. I know why you don't want to tell him. I do. Really. But please, can't you just tell him?
seriously, boys. you just tied up an escape artist. Really? and oh, goodie. cops. but without the bonus of the boys being slapped over the hood.
*did not worry in vain*
or, perhaps I did. I did wonder why Charlie had that patch of blood on his forehead the whole time.
So, Sam's mojo is no longer of the kinetic variety. Either that or he'd rather watch his brother die than use them.
How does Ruby magically know when to come? I mean, other than magic? and Sam? THAT'S NOT A WALK. THAT'S ABANDONING YOUR BROTHER IN A BAR IN IOWA.

That baffled me quite a great deal as well.

I DIDN'T EVEN THINK OF THAT! NOT FOR A MINUTE!! *makes high-pitched noises*
I am DYING to know what Sam's supposed to do to get his mojo up and running again. *bites nails*

IT WAS ALL AWESOME!

Also my new theory on the non-psychic Sam thing is something to do with dark magic (maybe dark magic to pump up his mojo?) because when Dean was talking about magic being like crack there was this Sam reaction shot that just made me think...hmm. And then Ruby telling him that he enjoys "it".
Ruby knows when to come because SHE HAS THE JETPACK. We've covered this. ♥ her jetpack.

how does she fit her awesome CAR in the jetpack? :D :D

First, let us assume that Kripke is still just as heavy-handed with the archetypes in plotting as he always has been. I love the show, I love the boys, but the plot is predictable in all kinds of ways, as I'm sure we can all agree.
So...
If the show has always been about two boys, a hot car, and killing evil things, then I believe firmly that it is heading back in that direction (albeit in the world's SLOWEST plot boat).
And this is what I think we're meant to believe right now:
Sam and Dean are going separate ways (lots of alone-time for both boys this ep, lots of aloneness as a theme of the episode, etc.).
Sam is going to take the Dark Path because he believes it will save them all, but especially, he believes it will save his brother (because Jay says that Charlie offered him a gift and he just threw it back in his face and now he's dead...which to me reminded Sam that he has a "gift" that he could be using to save people, but especially Dean).
Dean is going to continue drowning in his angst and pain over what he's done in hell and because *his* Supernatural Helper, i.e. Castiel, just isn't good with the advice. Say what we want about Ruby, at least she shows up now and then and does more than threaten Sam's brother.
Then, Dean's going to get orders to kill Sam, or to stop him, or something. We're coming down to the last few seals, the war is heating up, Castiel and the angels are suggesting that Sam is responsible.
Dean, anguished and in so much pain already, wants to die, just wants it to be over. Maybe They promise Dean heaven, redemption, whatever.
So we have reason to believe, going into the last ep or few eps, that Dean is in a place where he could stop Sam (to save him, for example; I can see Castiel playing that card). And Sam is so caught up in being a messiah that he doesn't see what he's doing; he thinks he's doing this all for the right reasons.
So there they are, confrontation central, about to beat the crap out of each other. And probably, we get some brother-beating.
And then one or the other or both of them figures out that they're being played by each side. And they decide in true Winchester fashion that enough is enough. And then they decide to do things THEIR way.
And that's where the season ends, I think.
But that's just me reading the plot signs, and Kripke does, occasionally, play heavy-handed on the obvious so he can screw around on us later on. :-)

Oh, I did not get that, but I sort of love it. Yay!
I loved the scene where they tie up Jay and then they turn around and he's gone. It was sort of cute that they were so busy talking amoung themselves that they lost him. Sam and Dean should discuss cases like this all the time.

This made the ep for me.

and Sam? THAT'S NOT A WALK. THAT'S ABANDONING YOUR BROTHER IN A BAR IN IOWA.
Sam is making me so sad this season =( he LIED to Dean AGAIN after EVERYTHING Dean has told him lately </3 and then he ditches Dean IN A BAR after that old guy just had to KILL his BROTHER-LIKE BFF (HELLO SAM! DO YOU NOT SEE THE POSSIBLE FORESHADOWING?!) to go play with Ruby! </3

::breathes::
Show got it's groove back. :D I'm a happy fangirl, because even the supporting characters were made of win and felt completely real and as loveable and tragic as the boys...

I love you for seeing this when I didn't. I also didn't even think about Dean/Dom as being a torture issue for him. That would have been an interesting route to go (although Kripke does seem to love teasing us with the posibility of gay sex, so it might not have fit the scene).
Line of the night to give me awful flashbacks: "You know, magic is like crack." AAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh! NO! NO IT ISN'T! Do not even ALUDE to magicrack! NO! BAD WRITER! I guess if Sam goes all dark haired and veiny, Dean will have to think up a Crayon related memory from their childhood to talk him down.
