Numb3rs finally made it up in my netflix queue, and the first disc of S1 arrived today. Five minutes in, I was in deep love. I knew I would like it, as it's very rare to find a crime show I don't like, and I have a HUGE affection for David Krumholtz, and fond memories of Rob Morrow from my Northern Exposure days. Plus, there is bonus Peter MacNichol. And it doesn't hurt at all that Alimi Ballard is GORGEOUS.

I've just finished the pilot now, and I love it even more. even if I find myself muttering, this is not an incest fandom. even though I know for a lot of people, it is

I've been feeling really at a loss because I caught up with airing NCIS and CSI episodes at pretty much the same time, which meant I had no more crime shows to watch on DVD. I OD'd on Law and Order SVU a while ago, and I wanted something different and new. I'm so glad I picked this. It appeals to my nerdity kink as well as my crime kink, and David is breaking my heart. I love him, and Charlie.

I think you'll enjoy numbers. I certainly dont ship any of the Eppes family! but the family dynamic is great. And it has hot chicks in the form of Navi Rawat and Diane Farr. and it has maths!

Numb3rs is fun! I love the family stuff. In particular I think Rob Morrow is a great actor on that show -- he has such an incredible "naturalness" about him -- I never get the sense he is ever just "reciting" lines.

Rob is great, but I am seriously loving on David. I always love him, but especially with this dynamic. :D

I missed the beginning, so I'm waiting until I can see it from the start.

I second The Mentalist rec, quite a good show.

Numbers is a really interesting show because of the ways that math is integrated into the plot and used to help with the cases. But...

And it doesn't hurt at all that Alimi Ballard is GORGEOUS.

I have to confess that when I do watch I realize how much I love just looking at Alimi and listening to him talk. He is a very beautiful man.

Is it frustrating at all to watch shows via Netflix. I think about it but wonder about having to wait for the next disc to come.

I LOVE watching things on Netflix. My trouble is that if I have the whole season on DVD, I will watch the whole season in one or two days. So I end up missing half of what is happening, and it's all over with too quickly. so the discipline that Netflix imposes on my watching is actually helpful. I generally try to watch no more than three shows at once, because I have the 3 disc plan.

I so love the math in this. Even though Math is SO NOT my strong suit.

Nothing to do with Numb3rs - which I haven't seen - but sort of related:

I watched my first two episodes of Law and Order SVU this past weekend, and I like it a lot. I am enthralled by Mariska's hair. Gorgeous. I'm also making my way through Criminal Intent (I have a thing for Kathryn Erbe). The best thing about the Law and Order shows is when Jesse L. Martin pops up! ♥ I also just watched my first episode of Criminal Minds. Liked it so much that I immediately *acquired* the entire first season to gobble down when I get a few hours. ;D

(I have just had coffee.)

I am enthralled by Mariska's everything pretty much. :D I watched CI a few times when I lived in England. I do like Kathryn, for sure. And criminal minds is definitely on my list :D

I have to rec Criminal Minds and Cold Case, the two best crime dramas airing in the USA (IMO); both have amazing cases and a stellar cast.

those two are on my list. I have more of a horn for forensics than strict crime dramas, though I have seen a couple eps of Cold Case, and enjoy it. So many delicious shows to catch up on! :D

All I know about Numb3rs is that it's got the kid from Addams Family Values in it, and when I see him I think, 'damn, that kid got to kiss Christina Ricci, lucky bastard.' Even though they were both about 13. Yes, I'm weird.

Anyway, this comment is mainly to say: OMG GOT YOUR CARD I LOVE YOU THANK YOU!! Your cat is seriously cute. *nods*

I had no idea he was in Addams Family Values. I haven't seen that since it came out in theatres. He's the kid from 10 things and Serenity, to me. Of course, now I have to hate him because he got to kiss Christina Ricci, and I didn't.

You're welcome! :D He did love to hide under the tree *g*

Uh, are you going to feel old if I say I don't really remember it coming out in cinemas? The Addams Family films (well, the original and Values, don't get me started on Reunion, which DOES NOT COUNT) were my massive obsession when I was 13-15. My friend and I spent a LOT of time in Maths lessons quoting bits at each other. This means that I can tell you that David Krumholtz played Joel Glicker, and his first line was 'I don't think I like it here', his last line was a really girly scream, and that in between he did a whole lot of setting Christini up for lines, and being mean to Mercedes McNab (Harmony in Buffy, and Lucy in Fresh Blood the SPN episode). Which, you know...awesome.

Oh, wow, I need to learn not to spam people with my weird out-of-date obsessions. So sorry.

oh, good lord! I was in my third year at Uni when it came out. I saw it in England *feels ancient* hehehe

I also forgot Mercedes was in it. Though I can picture her now you mention it. I might have to see that film again.

If you do, you'll have LOADS of 'Hey! It's That Guy!' moments, because I seem to spend all my time when watching films/TV going 'he/she was in Addams Family!' It, uh, drives people insane.

Numb3rs is awesome. Have been enjoying it for all of its (going on fifth) seasons so far, the Eppes family and all their associates. And Charlie's just... You wanna cuddle him and protect him from the big, bad world. Even though he's not really that helpless or anything.

Paint to see very slight character spoilers regarding S1 and generally.
And then there's this character, Edgerton, played by Lou Diamond Phillips. Personally, I have a soft spot for snipers, and there's just something about the interactions between Don and Edgerton that makes me draw sparkly hearts around them.

As for Alimi Ballard/David Sinclair... let's just say even dear husband's seeing the slash. ;)

So yes, you do want to stick with this show.
