Oh my god, I am in tears. First of all, that she was able to come back from such a devastating injury is a miracle. Second, that she can so lucidly describe that experience to us, and do so in such simple yet moving language. This woman is a wonder in so many ways.

Thanks, rb, for sharing.

Wasn't she just incredible? And I loved how she could be both totally scientific in her information about what happened physically, but was also able to completely inhabit the moment of it, crying in front of all those people and cameras and everything, but never got off track. Amazing.

Oh, gods. Part of me feels elated, happy to hear her talking about her experience with such insight and clarity, and part of me's thinking back to the birth of my daughter*; stepping outside of my body while remaining inside it, too, observing what it feels with curiosity, acknowledging the emotions and feelings but at the same time, sort of, ignoring them. And thinking how much this recount of a stroke reminds me of giving birth.

It's eerie.

Other than that... 'thermodynamic miracles'. It's just so easy to forget about them. And yeah, joining the chorus of sniffling and reaching for the kleenex. :)

Thank You so much for sharing this!
*hugs*

I am so glad to hear you say that. I've seen women sometimes going to a place that I wondered if it was like that at all, but it's not really something you can ask about. So thank you! And you are welcome :)

*hugs you*

I'd imagine it doesn't really seem appropriate to go to a fresh mother and ask if she stepped out of herself. :p
But yeah... watching this vid really reminded of that.
