I was like 'WTF HOW COULD ANYONE HAVE MISSED IT ARE THEY BLIND IT WAS OBVIOUS' at first, but then I realised I'd watched it on my laptop with my face inches from the screen; I watched it with my sister a couple days later and the computer was on a chair a short distance away like the distance people would be from a T.V and I was like 'ohhh, right. I guess maybe you could have missed it. >.>' and I mentally apologised to people I'd mentally called blind and unobservant XD XD

I am super unspoiled too! though strangely apprehensive. Mainly because after two funny episodes HELLO, I think we shall get extreme angst and plot advancement and eek!

I was exactly the same. TOTALLY OBVIOUS, I thought. But after watching (most of) the episode three times, I still haven't heard any line about waitresses with rashes, so I figure I shouldn't talk *g* I was watching on my TV, but I do have a 36 inch flat panel that I sit about 8 feet away from, so it's very easy to see.

I dreamed that the episode was the boys trying to stop a group of other hunters, who were all played by the actors who were the vampires in Lost Boys, from burying and salting and burning the Impala. IDEK.

I feel that I need to explain my lack of knowing about it. I didn't see the last of the episode because I got sick and then I never downloaded it because I'm lazy. I shall be doing that now, because obviously I missed something extremely important.

I...just thought it was Dean remembering more so then some EPIC FORESHADOWING. But yeah, it was very obvious and clearly done on purpose. I really was surprised to see there were people who didn't notice it. Like, do they actually look at the screen while they watch the show??

this is my theory too. that, or actually thinking he saw it because it is something that scares him soooo much. either way, I thought it was Dean and Not Sam. And I do hope it's right.

I did have to remember what watching Show on my parent's little CRT tv is like (impossibly dark and hard to see, even in the light bits), and what it's like watching things on my old lap top before I could remotely get the not seeing it. mostly because I was GLUED to the HOTLIKEFIRE on my screen at that point *g* I could not have torn my eyes away. (unlike with Metamorphosis, where I am sure I missed things hiding from the horrible eating of doooom)

As for the yellow, I blinked. As soon as I heard about it I downloaded the episode and rewatched the scene, eyes peeled open, and it's so brief, all you have to do is be mildly distracted and whoosh it goes right by. I think it has to do with the new affect for it, if you look at the way they've done it this season verses, say, how the reaper looks when she ends up possessed...

Speculating - it's some kind of blood tie. Drinking vamp blood makes you a vampire, that sort of thing, but the comic geek in me wants to say that Azzie's using Sam's body to resurrect himself on this plane of existence. Yeah, that's not gonna be it, but oh, it'd be fun :D

It definitely is more subtle with the new effect. I totally couldn't tear my eyes away from the hotness of the boys in that scene though. good lord. SMOKING HOT. As I said above though, I completely missed Dean's talking about the waitress with the rash, even going back to see the scene again SPECIFICALLY to watch that. Though I finally caught it just now on my fourth viewing *g*

Did you notice the flash of yellow in Sam's eyes the FIRST time you watched Yellow Fever?

No, still haven't seen it, and I think it's just an accident of the light. I don't think it was intentional.

I'm completely unspoilt so this is merely my own speculation. Firstly, I had a bruised head from the anvil that hit me when his eyes flashed. But I decided that it is a side affect of Dean's hallucinations or Dean projecting his deepest fear and not Sam's actual eyes flashing. I personally don't feel that Sam has progressed far enough with his powers to warrant/earn yellow eyes.

And your ticky boxes rock. Funny, lovely, woman you are!

I watched it on the TV in the breakroom at work, which has a craptastically bad picture. Haven't had a chance to rewatch yet, but my TV at home is tiny, so for now, I'm just gonna take y'all's word for it.

Yes, after I was reading everyone's but I didn't seeeee it reactions I remembered what it was like watching show on mom's tv. I am spoiled by mine. And when I was watching on mom's that was DVDs, so show itself would be even more craptastic.

I reckon it was just Dean's paranoia. Nothing wrong with Sammy at all, and he's never using his demon powers again, and they're going to live happily ever after, and maybe get a house, and Sam will learn to make pie so that neither of them ever have to go out for it again and risk possible demonic death. It's ALL going to be fine.

I thought that only Azazel would have yellow eyes (hence the name YED, like the CRD, not like there are others roaming around). So would this mean Sam is/could be the a kind of demon like YED? But he's human (even if his blood is 'corrupted'), right?

The whole hierarchy of eye colors confuses me. *dips into Halloween candy stash*

I started thinking thinky thoughts about the title and its double meaning with the yellow flash as well as the ghost fever - 'cos if it referred to Dean's sickness and only that then the ep would have been called ghost fever - wouldn't it? @cos after watching it first time i thought what a weird title it didn't really fit the ep, but then my flist mentioned the flash and i saw it so i thought that the title made more sense then.

Then my brain started hurting so i stopped thinking and just watched again for the love - because there was so much love, and tight jeans, and puppies!

so much to love. OMG.

I don't actually think evil!Sam is hot at all. But that's because what I love about Jared is his grin and bounce :D

I wasn't sure if it was meant to be something that Dean saw, like a hallucination, that didn't actually happen - just his mind playing tricks on him, or if it really DID happen. I know I don't think Sam was aware of it, although I've seen theories that he's already evil, just fucking with Dean, etc...I doubt it. While it would be awesome to see him that evil, there's no way (in my mind) that the show would honestly veer off that way. BUT WHO KNOWS. I'm spoiler-free, too, so anything's possible. :D

Also, I wasn't planning on trying to download Show this season, but asldkjhadfs goddamn, I need to get my hands on this last one just for that goddamn last scene. Jesus fuck, dude. I swear, I was about to start purring at the Tv screen.

That last scene killed me dead. SO FREAKING HOT. jesus.

I don't like evil!Sam as a concept or in actuality, so I am sticking with my theory of Dean hallucinated it in his fear. *nods*

I am completely unspoilered too! I don't watch the previews or anything, and so far this season everyone has been AWESOME and I haven't known titles or plot points or anything in advance (not reading as much stuff helps here too, heh). I love not having a clue.

I LOVE being unspoiled. though it does lead to some stress when people post things outside cuts. Mostly I avoid all coms and that helps.

(Is totally pathologically addicted to Show too) but yeah, I saw it the first time, and was actually watching on a tv. But ok, it's pretty big screen hi def, so maybe that explains it. I concur with your analysis, tho I'm kinda surprised any of us could see *anything* in that scene other than the boys' awe-inspiring gay-porn-pose hotness. :)

It was difficult to look beyond the burning hot, but the camera did help us by zooming in on Sammy's face right there.
