There has been a lot of sad and unhappy around today, and I wanted to post about good things.

  • first meeting of my new writers' group went amazingly well, and I found out two new things about one of my characters
  • had lunch with my BFF and her two kids at Pier 39, and it was WONDERFUL to see her. Haven't seen her since November, which is too damn long. We've been friends for twenty-nine years. And that's something really powerful.
  • I got chatting with a totally adorable man and his (probably) foster son on the trolley on the way home, and it was one of those conversations that makes you feel alive and good to be that way.
  • Mom found the housewarming card she sent me last year when she was helping me pack my old apartment, spirited it off, added little 'again's and 'still's to it and mailed it to me in my new place, making me grin.
  • Definitely, Maybe is just as wonderful as I'd hoped it would be, and Abigail Breslin is just cuter than a cute thing. (and Isla Fisher is still smokin' hot)
  • Butterfinger Blast ice cream.
  • I finally posted fic!!! It feels like forever ago that I last did that.
  • My f'list is filled with gorgeous, talented, generous and wonderful people.

When I first saw the card I smiled that she'd bought the same one twice and then I looked inside and totally cracked up that she'd sent the exact same one twice *g*

This post made me smile just from all the happy that was radiating from it ♥

29 years? Wow. You're very lucky :)

29 years makes me feel old, but it's true. I'm lucky. We met on the bus on the way home from day camp the summer I turned 7. And we exchanged phone numbers. Her daughter is now older than we were when we met. How scary is that? :)

I loved Definitely, Maybe too! I wanted him to be with Isla Fisher's character the whole way through, and when I thought he was gonna be with the blonde I was really disappointed. I didn't like her that much.

Yay for all your happy things. YAY for fic. Are you gonna participate in the Porn Battle (http://oxoniensis.livejournal.com/363932.html)?

i haven't had time to get over to porn battle yet, yesterday was my first day off from moving in a week! Hopefully I'll get there, but I don't know if I'll write or not :)

I really wanted to see the film for Abigail, but everyone in it was awesome, I thought. And an interesting concept for a film, with the story to his daughter.

WOE! It is AWESOME. There are some great fics there. I don't know all of the fandoms, but the SPN, House, SGA and Life on Mars fics are awesome. (I've written three! It kick-started my muse again!)

Ah, I just wanted to see it cos I'm a massive sap. Romantic comedies are my fave.

Now I feel happy! Despite having a stye. It is my favourite kind of summer day -- a little bit overcast but warm -- and I have vanilla bean cupcakes I baked last night, hot chai, and I'm ready to hit the books. I can't believe it is only a month until school starts (*pushes worry down and smothers it with pillows*)

ik, I hate having styes. itchy!

mmmm I want cupcakes now. a lot. but only homemade ones, for they are best.

*totally ignores that school will be starting at all*

I feel inspired. So I'm going to go and have a lovely day.

Definitly, Maybe is one of those movies I've been meaning to rent forever, so maybe I should do that today.

Huzzah for long, long, long-term friendships! I am blessed with one of those myself, and it is lovely to grow old with someone, to compare and contrast our lives, and to look out for each other.

Butterfinger Blast ice cream? Sounds delish!!

There is something about a person you've known since you were 7 years old but who isn't obligated to you by family ties. For sure.

Butterfinger Blast isn't as good as cake-batter ice cream with butterfingers smooshed up into it, but it's pretty damn good *g*
