my DVR only recorded the first half of Andromeda Strain Or whatever the hell it was called. Anyway. I now have seen half of it, and DO NOT HAVE THE OTHER HALF. *sulks*

eta: but [livejournal.com profile] emerald_angel9 pointed out I should look on A&E. And that led me to netflix, where I discovered that it is coming out on 3rd June.

i hate when that happens. you could download the files by torrent probably, if you are into that sort of thing... also did you check the network to see if it's on their website? i saw a preview and it looked pretty good, though of course i forgot to watch it... but with the internet, everything shows up sooner or later!

It was good. The first half anyway. I might try to torrent, though I haven't had any luck with them since getting my new laptop. It crashes every time I try. A&E are happy to let me pre-order it, but not watch it. Good plan though, I keep forgetting about that. Good thing about that, it will probably come to netflix.

eta: it comes to netflix on 3rd June, so I can watch it when I get back from England :D

wow, that's really soon for the dvd. used to be a&e would run their films like 50 times during the first 2 weeks... i remember once i was so excited to see one, right when i moved back from japan, and had to be home to watch... then they played it like 20 more times that week and i was pretty pissed off.

:D but at least you won't have long to wait

whatchya doing in England?

the problem was, when I looked to see if there was more on the next night, i looked at the same time. First time it was on at six. Next night it was on at nine. I did look around, but didn't see it. Clearly I didn't look hard enough. Though when Tin Man was on, it let me tape all of them in one move. This time, not so much. It looks like they're releasing the DVD though, so I should be able to get it on netflix at some point.

It's NOT! What's up with that? Sam/Dean dream interrupted, I'm fat and ugly, and half my show is missing. Oh, the humanity! WORST DAY EVER. [/irony]

*snuggles you* I hate feeling all sulky like this. And really, for very little reason. I need to stop eating sugar. It totally makes me sulky.

Awww, baby! You have no idea how much I want to fly over there and hug you to death! I'd do all sorts of silly things to cheer you up. And then I'd steal your sugar and hide it. *snuggles you*

I have a total idea. possibly nearly as much as I want to fly over there and cheer YOU up. OMG we would have so much fun! *clings to you*

sorry your dvr is being bitchy.

you have comcast? part 2 is playing again this saturday night, 7 pm, on channel 734.

i liked it. =)

posted by [identity profile] rivers-bend.livejournal.com at 12:47am on 29/05/2008
I don't have comcast. but I can probably wait for a few weeks. And if I watch it on dvd, I won't have to have ads every 30 seconds :D

It was good, yeah?

i thought so. the special effects could have been a bit better, and the end had a few drawn out minutes, but it entertained him.

and i loved daniel dae kim's character.

good call on being able to watch it without ads. the commercial breaks were to looooong and quite annoying.

I love Netflix! I am a huge film geek and I've been using it for months now and it's great!!

I've hardly watched any movies since I got it when I moved back, as I've been devouring TV shows like they're going out of style. When I had the equivalent in England I watched tons of movies too. I'm starting to watch more now, as I've caught up on most of what I'd been dying to see. Fall semester I was going through 6-8 discs a week on my 3 at a time plan, but last semester I was mostly on 3 discs a week because I had a lot more homework. It's such a great system though. and it saves me a fortune on buying TV shows on DVD.

I have a bunch of TV shows I love in my Netflix queue too. Right now I'm waiting for some MST3Ks.

My digi-recorder box thing has a really nasty habit of stopping recording roughly 5 minutes before the end of a TV show/film, so I feel your pain.
It's really really annoying and I don't know how to stop it!!

that is SO SO EVIL!

Can you do a thing when you set it to record that allows you to extend the recording time?

omg *stabs it for you*

OMG, Andromeda Strain FTW!! I love that film. I watched it over and over as a kid. How shite that your DVR has a mind of its own and missed the second half. I mean, tension is good, but not that kind of tension. Blimey.

This movie just came out this week, so I suspect it's not the one you watched as a child, but it was very good. The whole thing was on again yesterday, and weirdly, my dvr decided to record it this time, so now I've seen the whole thing.
