This doesn't look like homework, missy! *g*

I'm trying to remember if there even were boxer-briefs in 1996. *ponders* Yes, I think of these things. I dunno why, either.

And because I'm a freak like that, I went looking for the answer *g* (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boxer_briefs).

B was wearing them before we moved back to England, and that was in 95, so definitely :D

I went with the boxer-briefs for Dean, but I think he might've been doing the commando thing when he was too lazy to do the laundry, or it was Sam's turn, or there was a sure thing involved, or because Sam stole his unmentionables.

You're probably right. And I wish i didn't know this, but I think that's about the age my brother started going commando (he likes to tell me these things), so he may have been leaving his underwear off more and more. Though with all the running, diving, getting thrown into walls Dean does, he might want a little more support...

Well, I doubt he'd be stupid enough to go commando for hunting - after the first time *g*

First Kim's pubic hair poll and now yours-I'm so totally distracted thinking about all of this. LOL.

I think Sam could have worn both boxers or briefs and Dean would have worn boxers or nothing at all.

John-boxers or boxer briefs.

Oh, and wasn't Dean wearing some black boxer briefs in an episode? I just thought of that.

I think there should be some photographic evidence of these black boxer briefs....

well, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't going against the whole of fandom with my fic ;) Kim's poll was just gratuitous pornage. ;) Unless she's writing shaving fic. Kim? are you writing shaving fic? *grabby hands*

Welcome! Actually, I asked Kim which episode bc she KNOWS SHIT LIKE THAT. It's amazing. My memory is terrible for recalling such details. I can see the picture of it but can't remember episodes.

Yes, he's beautiful.

You are a sensible lady, and I am forgetful.

*makes note not to spoil*

Nope, it's utterly removed from anything even approaching canon or the series flow.

In fact, it's barely RH based at all, except I've 'borrowed' one of their characters.

(I promised to dust him off and return him in one piece when I'd finished, and so far they've not phoned Lost to see what I do with these fellows...)

Has S2 started for you yet?

:D You did the poll! You're awesome.

I think John would wear boxers, absolutely. Plain, serviceable boxers.

Dean... I was so tempted to answer commando, but in the end I had to go with the "he'd want support" option -- on a hunt, anyway. Just lounging around in the rare off moment? Definitely commando then.

And I think Sam probably wore tighty-whities until college, where Jess tried her best not to laugh at him and hurt his feelings, and took him underwear shopping. There's a thong-like thing with a posing pouch he never talks about in front of Dean, but still remembers fondly since she loved it...

If anything, Dean would probably where boxers as John would buy them in bulk and Dean would just wear whatever he did (or nothing at all). The boxer-briefs thing would have started when he was older.

Little Sammy would have worn tightie whities because that's what John would buy for him.

I definitely see Sam in Tighty-Whities at this age, I don't know that I knew of any 12 year old boys wearing boxers. I do think 17 is about when Dean would have started picking out his own underwear, but I can see your argument, definitely.

Sometimes I wonder about my brain. for serious.

My brother wore boxers at that age - and I only know because guess who had to do most of the laundry? But then, mostly it was for *style* as they liked to have their jeans hang down and show what was beneath.

I'd say boxes for all, if only because they would be the easiest and likely cheapest thing for all of them to get, and size wouldn't be as important. Obviously we know that Sam for sure now wears boxer briefs, and I think Dean does too.

posted by [identity profile] rivers-bend.livejournal.com at 01:57am on 28/04/2008
now I have an image of Sam pulling on a pair of John's boxers because he can't be bothered to do the laundry and he's positively swimming in them, but he just does his jeans up quick so they don't fall down :D

What? Nobody has been here in two years? Gotta change that. Let's have some fun, then.

I totally agree with your choice for the boys.

And I can't bear to think of Sam or Dean wearing actual boxer shorts. I'm totally allergic against those, because they remind me of swimming trunks. The ones of the sort "big as a house", from waist to knees, so the little boys could stare at the girls all day and hide their woodies. That's the reason why I think boxers are the most un-sexy and off-putting pieces of clothing conceivable and I just can't imagine, why a grown man would want to stuff a kids undergarment in their pants (isn't that terribly uncomfortable in tight jeans?).

Thus I cringe whenever I read "boxers" in fan fiction. But I reprogrammed my mind and whenever I read that word, I am sure beyond doubt, that they meant "boxer briefs" and in my mind it's just an abbrevation. Those nice boxer briefs can show off a nice pair of buttocks (and more) very handsome, so they are number one for me. Oh well, I guess it's also a question of regional customs. In my part of the world, most guys wouldn't be caught dead with boxers. Unless that has changed a lot since I occasionally unwrapped one.

Pardon the ramble, I couldn't let an opportunity go by to tell the world my opinion on [insert the dreaded word]. Ha ha. And maybe pull the awesome poll into the light again. ;)

I always picture boxer briefs in my mind when I read "boxers". It's certainly easier to say boxers than spelling it all out. I always associate boxers with hanging out my parents' washing, so I don't think they're sexy at all. :)
