OMG THE MASTER/DOCTOR SLASH!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE MY GAY TV SHOW!!!!!

"Dying in your arms, happy now?"

and

"Please! Regenerate! ... It can't end like this... There's no one else... Rejenerate!"

and David crying, and John going limp in his arms and David holding him all handcuffed... my god, it was awesome. And really quite hot.

AND OMG!!!!!!!!!!! JACK IS THE FACE OF BO???

Don't forget: crying while rocking back and forth and making grief-y sounds. Angst just never gets old for me :D

I love Jack's sudden smiles -- he just BEAMS. And Jack = Bo HEEEEE!

there is no end to my love for David Tennant and for Russel T Davies and OMG yes, the crying and rocking and weeping and holding and grief! I wanted to cling to the episode. When the DVR asked if I wanted to delete it I got all panicky that I would/did say yes accidentally. when the answer is clearly NO because I must watch it again!

LOL!

I also think that Martha did the whole unrequited love thing beautifully. It was sad, but so lovely and tangible. *sigh*

Martha was lovely. "So this is me, getting out." *tears*

I also thought she did the telling about the doctor thing really well. I am sad that she's leaving after only one season.

She's going to Torchwood, though, no? (I mean, YES). And she'll appear a bit in S4 DW, yes?

she is??? Yay! Though I'll have to wait ages I suppose, only being on epi 3 of the first series. But yay for more Martha, because she rocks. And I do hope she'll be in S4 some too.

Dammit, I was trying to find the photos of her with the Torchwood cast, and I can't... but I also read that it's only three eps. I'm hoping for more. Also James Marsters will be joining the cast.

Get on with the watching, you!

*drags eyes away from Ianto's really red lips*

I am watching it on BBC america, so only an episode a week. which is slow. But if I put anything else on netflix I will NEVER do any homework. I'm already watching something like seven discs of tv shows a week, on top of everything that's actually on TV. All that living in England put me so far behind! And I don't know why I feel so compelled to catch up, but I do. *g*

Ah well, you're good to go, then. BBC-A will catch you up quick - there's 12 or so eps. I'm re-watching and loving it.

But when Torchwood Season Two comes up in January, I'll tell you that I'll be downloading like a crazy fool, yes I will.

*teehehehehehehheehehehe*

XD *glee* Yes, Jack... The face of Bo.... *glee* :D ... So... He can die.... *le sigh* Davies really is a jeanius! XD

(Oh! Have you heard of this other show... Jekyll... Brother gave me copy of the 6-ep show. From Steven Moffat. Who wrote a bunch of Dr Who eps... Including Blink - with the creepy stone angels. But, more importantly, he was the awesome person behind Press Gang!!!! So, yeah... You need to see it.....)

Blink is my fave ep of the third series not including this one at the end. So perhaps I do need to see it.

I'm getting weirdly tearful about Jack being Bo now, all those millennia living in a giant jar... I don't know what is wrong with me tonight. I was crying so hard at a piece of fanfic earlier that I got tears on my keyboard!

.... Ya know, I'm pretty sure salt-water is BAD for keyboards!!! *stares*

Moffat also wrote The Girl in the Fireplace, The Doctor Dances and The Empty Child. Is he not awesomely brilliant? *nods for you*

Hmm... Emotionalness... *squints* *hugs you*

AAAH! Girl in the Fireplace is my fave ep of that season! He is awesomely brilliant. Totally. When Deadwood and Oz finish I shall add that to my list!

I am so not at the emotionalness time of the month. It's not fair.

Oh... I was supposed to be... A week ago... *squints* *thinks I may have been hanging out with too many conflicting females*
(my body always tries to sync up with other ppl....)

Oh, yes... Jekyll is utterly brilliant.... Very unique. Short. Not sure if there will be a second season (not likely, given the ending...). But, yes... Oh, have you also seen Life on Mars??? With... Whatshisname... Played the Master. :D For me, as much as I enjoyed Life on Mars, it was... Almost a chore to watch... Very conflicting. I think because it was an adult show... And hence weren't characters I could associate with... But, regardless, I thoroughly enjoyed, and you should add that after Jekyll to your must-watch list :)

Ha! I CONSUMED Life on Mars. Watched the first season in one sitting. I LOVED it. But I am old ;) Very nearly as old as John Simm himself...

hahahaha lol yes.... I am a young 'un... Sorta... *shrugs* Age is relative... :) The ending of that show though? Tragically awesome... *sigh*

posted by [identity profile] rivers-bend.livejournal.com at 03:58am on 06/10/2007
I loved the ending. I think it was the only way to end it. Though it did make me all sad. but in that happy good way. *loves Sam like woah*

Yes.... Oh so sad... And wonderful...

Jekyll is AMAZING. *nodsnods* Worth downloading or catching on BBC-A.

I have added it to the netflix queue. Though it will have to wait a bit as I'm caught up in 11 shows at the moment and I have homework to do! but I'm very nearly done with Deadwood and there's not toooooo very much left of Oz, so there should be some room at some point. I'm glad to get a second vote for it, cos I love good stuff.

posted by [identity profile] alizarin-nyc.livejournal.com at 04:14am on 06/10/2007
Deadwood. Right ON. That's cool. I never got caught up in Oz, but have seen a number of eps. I see you loved Life on Mars, too. We live on a similar wavelength, here.

I went crazy when the third season of Deadwood wasn't available in England, but then I came home and now I'm watching it and I LOVE it, except it makes me swear rather a lot. I was the same about Oz, which you can only get S1 in England. (at least to rent) but now I'm on S4 and love it so much. It's fantastic TV, and has canon gay, which always makes me happy. We do seem to fan a lot of the same TV shows. Except that I refuse to get involved in SGA fandom because I suspect it would eat my life. There's too much of it. Like the Sopranos. I suspect I'd like it, but it's too much. Have to draw the line somewhere

Yes, SGA EATS YOUR LIFE. You'd best stay away. The silly and the gay and the SPACESHIPS and life-sucking vampires and the PORN. It's totally out of control. But otherwise, we have many of the same interests and thoughts about those interests.

You wrote Michael Scofield/Sam Winchester and THAT endears me to you forever.

Do you do Firefly? A few pals and I started this Deadwood/Firefly comm and it didn't go anywhere but was a good idea in theory -- one of the Firefly canon rim planets is, actually, Deadwood and there you go. [livejournal.com profile] fire_wood is its cocksucking name. ;)

posted by [identity profile] rivers-bend.livejournal.com at 04:34am on 06/10/2007
Do I do Firefly????

That is a great idea, and OMG SO YES! Mal and Al facing off, and Mal and Seth fucking, and River trying to have a conversation with Trixie, and Kaylee picking Jane up out the street and helping Joanie take her back to... somewhere, and Inara having to go and see Doc about something and Simon and Jayne getting in trouble in the Union... THERE ARE NO WORDS! that just all off the top of my head at the suggestion!

*goes all dizzy and faint with joy*

posted by [identity profile] alizarin-nyc.livejournal.com at 04:37am on 06/10/2007
Ha! So you see we weren't the ONLY people who went nuts for the idea... it just... everyone was busy and... I even have a banner for the site that never went up.

I also started the Al/Mal bit and [livejournal.com profile] executrix was going to write Alma/Inara and [livejournal.com profile] chelseagirl47 was going to write Jayne/Jane!

And lookit all that you just writ right there!!! I think we might have to garner some stories for this comm, you know?

posted by [identity profile] rivers-bend.livejournal.com at 04:46am on 06/10/2007
I have totally joined this com, and I am setting the bunnies to percolate, because these are my two femslash fandoms and I haven't written any femslash in ages, and it also seems pretty ripe for genfic, and though I don't really slash any of the men on firefly or on deadwood with each other, I could totally get behind some crossover slash pairings.

Even if no one else gets back into it, I want to give it a go. Not that I don't have enough on my plate... but! YAY!

RTD is my god.

The John Simm as The Master rocked like the rockingest thing ever!

I felt so sad when it was revealed that Jack is the Face of Boe!! For our beautiful, lively boy to end up as a face in a jar. SO. SAD.

Back to RTD, have you seen any of his other stuff? Casanova was simply sublime, and I am one of the three people that adored Bob and Rose. The Second Coming was quite gud too.

John Simm was brilliant and also gorgeous. And totally sad about Jack as Bo, though it made me super happy at the time. Until I thought about how sad Bo seemed in the hospital on New New York.

I've only seen QaF of Russell's other work. which of course I love more than air. I can't count how many times I've watched it. I wanted to see Casanova but haven't got around to it yet. And I'm not sure I've heard of the others.

***icon love*** Rose is so cute!

Someone has uploaded the entire series of Casanova on youtube, if you were keen :-)

Bob and Rose was controversial because the storyline involved a gay man falling in love with a straight woman. It was a really good story, and it appealed to me because I reckon sexuality is a whole lot more complicated than a small selection of labels.

Oh yes, that was an excellent scene (and that reminds me, I must buy the DVD set). Infinitely rewatchable :D

posted by [identity profile] rivers-bend.livejournal.com at 08:54pm on 07/10/2007
So re-watchable! I got the first two series for my birthday and I think I'm going to have to treat myself to the third for... something. :D

John Simm was brilliant, and they cut loads out of the UK episodes when they aired them on US TV, so i must get to see them.

I love Russell for the slash, but sometimes it's even better when it's subtext like that. Not that it was that far below the surface ;)

It is just such an amazing way to end a series isn't it? And the look on the Doctor's face when he burned the body...ooooh!
(Did he salt it first?)

Russel Davies is God - I've just finished watching Queer as folk (English series 1) again and it totally rocks. The lead character has a total Doctor Who obsession going on, and the whole show just did so much for making gay not only acceptable but desirable.

And James Marsters is in the new series of Torchwood! Am a puddle of longing on the floor!

I think I probably watched QaF at least three or four times each week that it was first aired in the UK, and then I bought the videos and watched them six or seven times and then I bought the DVDs. Vince and Stuart were my OTP for years before I even knew what one was. It was then that I first even really knew what Dr Who was. I'd heard my friends talk about it of course, but didn't really get it.

I'm very excited about James M being in Torchwood...
