Courtesy of the late Jerry Falwell:
"The argument that making contraceptives available to young people would prevent teen pregnancies is ridiculous. That's like offering a cookbook as a cure to people who are trying to lose weight."

That's one of the stupidest things I've ever heard. (not the worst, oh no, but certianly stupid)

It seems to me that if you were to give a cookbook, filled with recipes for healthy food, made with fresh ingredients, to a person trying to loose weight, a person who most likely eats a fair amount of processed or resturant food (speaking from personal experience), it is actually going to be quite helpful in their weight loss plans.

Much like giving contraceptives to teenagers having sex is going to help prevent unplanned teen pregnancies. Not all people given the cook book are going to use it, or use it all the time, same as not everyone is going to use the contraception correctly. But both things are going to help.

just my opinion, of course.

I was absolutely DETERMINED to write something today. I managed one drabble. But hey, that's something. I also did some editing of Alden, MN and sent it off to a magazine, which I'm going to count as well.

Possibly due to the four and a half episodes of Dr Who that I watched today, my muse took the shape of Jackie Tyler. General rated, 100 words.
