I was absolutely DETERMINED to write something today. I managed one drabble. But hey, that's something. I also did some editing of Alden, MN and sent it off to a magazine, which I'm going to count as well.
Possibly due to the four and a half episodes of Dr Who that I watched today, my muse took the shape of Jackie Tyler. General rated, 100 words.
I put the kettle on first thing in the morning, last thing at night, so many times in between. It's while I wait for the water to boil that I allow myself to think of her. To wonder where she is. When she is. If that doctor's taking care of her.
As soon as the tea's brewing, I stop. Think of other things. Pete maybe, how it was when we met, or that sexy new bloke down the paper shop. Then I drink my tea, get on.
Until the next cuppa, when I can think of her again, my Rose.

That's just how Jackie is to me. Hopeful and ordinary, in the very best way.

I am quite fond of Jackie Tyler (and Rose too!) - it is refreshing to read her p.o.v.
I am thrilled that you are submitting Alden, MN to a magazine! I loved that piece, and I hope you will write something in a similar vein again.

I too hope I write something like Alden again. I really enjoyed it. I've been trying to tempt similar bunnies to the garden gate, but any that are there are being coy. I suppose I'll have to wait til one decides to attend to me.

(Now I need some Dr. Who icons.)

It's so her. I can picture it now. As much as I didn't like Rose, I always liked her mum.

But Jackie was just so sweet.
Only a few weeks to go! :(
