Most of all I'm scared of walking out of this room and never feeling the rest of my whole life, the way I feel when I'm with you.

And it wasn't even that Jennifer Grey couldn't sell it. It's just ridiculous. (we won't talk about how she was looking 30 and playing 18)

I love Dirty Dancing It's cheesy and dated despite being a period piece, and it's silly, but it has something. That line has always made me cringe though.
Mood:: 'headache' headache

*nods* I love the film to bits, just as the 'sleepover' film of my early teens, but I get the feeling I'd have to watch it from between my fingers now.

Although the bit on the bridge is still great and the film makes for great icons ;)

see, I totally needed that icon for this post. I've actually watched it a few times in the last couple of years, and it still holds up pretty well. All things considered. One of the few films from my highschool days that does.

It's not mine, but feel free to nick it - [livejournal.com profile] indiexicons make some really pretty ones, not all fandom based :)

I have it on DVD, so may need to revisit it next time the other half's out. I don't think he quite gets it...

I figured I had better watch it again before I had to leave it behind. It's one of the ex's favourite films. That and Breakfast Club. I might have to check out some of the icons there.

Despite my love of musicals, and movies with great dance sequences and, of course, silly movies, I am the only woman I know that doesn't love Dirty Dancing. Many of my female friends watch it at least once a year. I liked it, but seeing it only once suited me nicely.

My best friend when I was young had an ENORMOUS crush on Patrick Swayze. He never did much for me (and gee, I wonder why *g*) but I often went to the pictures with her. I think we saw DD three times in the cinema and then rented it a couple of times as well. So I had it fairly instilled in me at an impressionable age. Hence, I love it still. There are many films from that era that I wish I'd only watched twice. When I tried to go back and watch Sixteen Candles, for instance... OMG, the PAIN! Pretty in Pink is still ok, but I don't love it the way I did then. Heathers, on the other hand, is endlessly re-watchable.
