for
diachrony, because she asked.
The English Patient ~ it was terminally yellow, terminally boring and nearly endless. I liked the subplot of the nurse and the bomb disposal expert, but every scene with Ralph Finnes and Kristen Scott Thomas made me want to rip my eyes out.
My Little Eye ~ The list of reasons I hated it is too long. The only reason I didn't? Bradley Cooper.
Short Cuts ~ biggest misnomer EVER. I'm sure there were good things about it, but by the time we finally got to the end of the film, bugger me if I could remember any of them.
Wild at Heart ~ There is no need for me to hear the sound of someone squelching their own finger in their brain. And there is no need for Willem Defoe with horrible brown teeth to hisssss obsceneties in Laura Dern's ear while I'm watching either.
Last House on the Left ~ Honestly? there are no words. It's beyond horrifyingly horrible.
Texas Chainsaw Massacre ~ boring followed by people so annoying you were pleading for them to die, which it took them far, FAR too long to do.
Anaconda ~ It did spawn the comedy gold "The Anaconda has eaten John Voight" caption in Empire Magazine to this picture
, but it was otherwise appalling. The special effects were the worst. Besides, I was grumpy that day. Interestingly, I saw it with the same people I saw Fantastic Four with, only they all loved it and I hated it.
Howard's End ~ I couldn't bring myself to care about the characters, which meant the film was wasted on me.
Wolf Creek ~ I waited far too long to ask B if we couldnt' just turn the damn thing off. Vile.
Wrong Turn ~ If I tell you that Eliza Dushku is seen tied to a bed with wire wearing a white tank top (vest) and her underwear, sweaty and dirty and writhing around and that I still didn't like this film, you will understand how bad it is. Cos day-um she's awfully hot like that. Cheap nasty horror.
Hmmm. Mostly horror films on this list, with a smattering of period pieces. Guess I know what genres aren't really my thing.

Incidentally, I actually liked Wrong Turn. I thought it was a very conventional horror film, but surprisingly effective at that.

After my shamed liking of F4, I was challenged to find 10 films I didn't like. hence the list :)

I didn't mind Howard's End, but I can't remember a thing about it! Except that there were costumes. And James Wilby.

Chiefly what I remember about Howards End was Anthony Hopkins standing in a doorway a lot and my frustration that in a darkened theatre you can't read a watch that's white with white hands, no matter how trendy it is.

*roars laughing* Hadn't seen that before!!

It would also explain why I've never even heard of a good number of them. And probably wouldn't want to, either.

I liked Ralph in End of Days and Schindler's List. After English Patient I was far less sold on the man.

I haven't seen most of these movies. I did see Howards End and I know I really didn't enjoy it ... vaguely recall Anthony Hopkins' character being nasty, and everyone basically dreary. I saw Wrong Turn solely for Eliza, but was distracted during viewing and can't remember a thing except ... there were woods?
Your dislike of The English Patient reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where Elaine *hated* that movie and was made a pariah because all her work friends loved it, and her boyfriend broke up with her over it, and her boss made her go see it (again) with him 'cos he loved it so much, and she kept trying to see a dumb fun movie instead and never managed it as she kept getting re-routed to Patient. Hee.
I *love* Anaconda! It's my favorite bad movie (so far anyway). I don't think it's a good movie; I think it's hilariously bad, and I always laugh to the point of tears at the scene where Jon Voight gets swallowed by the snake, spit out & swallowed again. Its cheesy badness, and JV's scenery-chewing style, is exactly why the movie's so much fun. For me, anyway. :)

Yeah, there were woods in Wrong Turn. Woods and inbred freaks. Very original ;)

I do find it hard to think of films that I really didn't like though apart from that. I absolutely hated Forrest Gump and Hannibal is the only film that I've ever wanted to walk out of because it was so appalingly bad, but apart from that...
Oh, Star Wars. I've probably seen most of the original three and all three of them made me want to kill someone (preferably George Lucas). ET leaves me cold as well but I don't really hate it or anything.
