Take me to the Borg homeworld...

Yes, it's another meme. I've been trying to resist this one all day, but I just played on [livejournal.com profile] jadesfire2808's journal, and I can't resist any longer. So step right up and play...

Stump the writer!

A -- go to the list of my fic (links to everything from 2006 are here or you can go to the tags along the right hand side of my journal's page) and pick out a line or three from one of my stories. (Must be a full line, please -- no sentence fragments or speech tags or other such nonsense.)
B -- I will respond with which story of mine I think it's from.
C -- House Points and a drabble to anyone who stumps me.

Drabbles offered in the following fandoms: House, CSI (any), Ugly Betty, Desperate Housewives, Gray's Anatomy, Buffy, Alias, or whatever fandom I didn't guess the story from if you can't choose. I will even do a drabble from the POV of original characters if you choose one of my OC fics, but porn is not guaranteed ;)

I'm so going to end up writing drabbles. I can't remember writing half the fics I wrote, never mind remembering lines from them
Mood:: 'dubious' dubious

Oh, nice meme. *g* Here goes, then:

How making you wait makes us both hotter.

Damn. I knew I was going to be dreadful at this. I think it's from Choose. But I am far from certain.

I win a drabble. *g*

It was from your m/m double drabble without a name. Mean of me to pick such a tricky one (how're you supposed to remember something you didn't name??). I shall try to be benevolent in victory and ask for any drabble you feel like writing next time the muse alights.

Ah, no tricker than anything I did name. as titles mean nothing to me. I can't remember 80% of my titles at all.

I shall write you your drabble then. *pokes bunny hutch*

Ok. One drabble *g* On the same theme as the tricky fic.

Rupert recognised the sounds coming from the next cubicle and had to give them props. It wasn't everyone who'd dare the Harrods changing rooms. He made a bet with himself as to how many shirts he could try with his new jacket before they were finished. He'd initially thought all seven, but someone was apparently good with his tongue, if the heavy breathing was anything to go by, and he revised it down to three. He'd just done the last button on the third shirt (peach, went well with his tan) when a thump against the wall signaled splashdown. Score.

Thoroughly utterly wicked. *g*

signaled splashdown. Score.

Completely perfect. Thank you!

You are very welcome. Earned fair and square. And Mr Look at me, Look at me got to come out and play a bit *g*

Jeepers that's a lot of stories! Hmmmm...

Try:
"Wilson looked like he had concert tickets and a backstage pass. What is so great about this woman?"

We're just trying to get as many drabbles out of you as possible... ;)

I can tell you that is 99% surely a [livejournal.com profile] karaokegal line and you are definately getting a drabble.

I can't remember at all. *g*

Actually, I think it's yours... it's from part 2 of your House/West Wing crossover, "Conspiracies" - the woman in question is CJ, in case you'd forgotten... ;)

I'll take anything with Jack in it, thanks :D Which, it being Jack, doesn't limit you too much... *grin*

My fic, but I bet it's her line. Beta being what it is. Still totally fair play.

You'll take anything with Jack in it? Are we talking Torchwood Jack, and if so, are you aware I've never seen a single episode? Everything I know I learned from fanfic.

posted by [identity profile] jadesfire.livejournal.com at 04:17pm on 28/03/2007
hmmm...I didn't realise that... You did a good impression when you read Undead! Amazing what you can learn from fanfic :D

Okay, anything with ducks in, then. As I'm feeling nice. (and rather dizzy, which may have something to do with it) Jack would be an added bonus :)

posted by [identity profile] rivers-bend.livejournal.com at 04:19pm on 28/03/2007
In fact everything I know is from [livejournal.com profile] paperclipbitch's fanfic to be precise, until I read your Undead.

ducks... Ok... :)

posted by [identity profile] rivers-bend.livejournal.com at 04:48pm on 28/03/2007
Wow. I can't believe I just wrote a character I've never seen. With ducks.

It wasn't the ducks quacking around his feet per say that were the problem, it was more that said ducks, and hence Jack himself, were on an island no bigger than the table in the Magic Box and he had no idea how he'd got here. Those tiny people on the beach, 500 metres away, looked an awful lot like Tara and Willow holding hands next to a fire. Perhaps they had an explanation. If only he could get to them without swimming.

That was the trouble with witches. No simple phone calls. It was all summoning spells and ducks.

*giggle* Yay for spreading the insanity :) I think I may have unintentionally started a new series... *grin* Thanks!

“Grabby? You ain’t seen nothing yet.”

If I win a drabble (I want Buffy - I've gotten very into Buffy lately), I'll put this in my journal too.

I think that's Fourth Floor or the fic with the frottage. I'll kick myself if it's Superstar

posted by [identity profile] ennui-blue-lite.livejournal.com at 04:57pm on 28/03/2007
Ack! You win! It's from Fourth Floor.

I might post this in my journal anyway.

Definately meme on! And you can always try again, you were unlucky with that line. It was the subject of some beta argument *g*

one drabble for you here (http://rivers-bend.livejournal.com/101183.html) :D

A touch he identified as the broader pad of thumbs teased his nipples. Each fingertip in turn repeated the caress before they kneaded at the muscles underneath. Deft and sure, they knew intimately the pattern of pectoralis, the delineation of deltoid, and they pushed at the tension they found there until it melted away.

posted by [identity profile] rivers-bend.livejournal.com at 05:22pm on 28/03/2007
And here is where my inability to remember titles gets me. But that is House's bath fantasy fic unless I am very much mistaken. *g*

posted by [identity profile] deelaundry.livejournal.com at 05:30pm on 28/03/2007
I thought me mentioning it would be a bit of a hint! So dreamy and luxurious, that whole sequence was. Mmmmmm. *g* The title was Tension and Release.

posted by [identity profile] rivers-bend.livejournal.com at 05:33pm on 28/03/2007
Your mentioning it was a clue, for sure, but I proably would have got it anyway because I remembered the deltoids and pectoralis *g* Titles however... Oy.

My first attempt:

House considered Wilson’s laugh. “Seriously though, I’m waiting for labs. I need potato chips."

posted by [identity profile] rivers-bend.livejournal.com at 06:18pm on 28/03/2007
I totally remember this conversation between them, but the trouble is, I can't remember which story it's from. The urge to cheat is strong, but I shall resist.

i owe you a drabble.

It's from "Sleepwalking."

How about something with H/W and the piano. Make it as schmoopy, fluffy or angsty as you like.

Here you go. Sorry it took so long, B came home, then pizza came...

'How many times am I going to listen to this song tonight?' Wilson was sitting on the sofa, eyeing the dvd still in its box.

'But it's perfect. More than thirty years, and it doesn't take him thirty seconds.' House played the song again.

Wilson watched his fingers moving over the keys. There was something mesmerizing about it now that he looked. He'd never really considered House's hands before. Long fingers caressing the keys, all his concentration on the music.

'House-'

'I'm almost finished, just one more time.'

'I was just going to ask you if you'd play it again.'

I am glad it fits the bill. Imagine my amazement when it turned out at exactly 100 on first go! these drabbles are being kind to me today.

Was that the series of drabbles with word association prompts? I have no idea if I even gave that a title. But with shadow, puppet, master, card, sharp? (and maybe others, I can't remember)

Curses! You guessed! You did give it a title: "More Than A Day", and it was gorgeous. ;)
