Title: His Hands
Fandom: Jeeves and Wooster
Rating: PG
Words: 135
I intended this to be written for
skyblue_reverie but in the end it was written with her, because her ear for Bertie is as perfect as mine is absent.
Jeeves’ hands are bally marvellous. He does all manner of clever things with them – polishing the silver, tidying up after yours truly, frying up a mess of b. and e., and so forth. The Wooster hands are fit only for frivolity. Tickling the old ivories, poking at a billiard ball with a cue now and then - nothing useful.
Just lately, I’ve taken to tugging at my collar before wandering into the kitchen to enquire about lunch or supper or whatnot. Jeeves always stops what he’s doing to straighten it.
Jeeves’ way with a tie is rather remarkable. The man’s fingers are talented beyond belief. When those fingers fuss with the knot at my throat I go a bit unsteady on my pins. He was fixing my tie when he first kissed me, you see.

'Absent Bertie voice' - pish tosh! I helped some, but the basic structure and the best phrases were all you ("unsteady on my pins" - so much yay!) And the last line still makes me go all weak in the knees, lo these many re-reads later. :)
I love you for doing this for me! (Well, I love you anyway, but you know what I mean.) Even if you never write another word of J/W (which, you will if I have anything to say about it *g*) I am so ecstatic that you wrote this. It is perfect.
Hugs and kisses and showers of adoration!!!

I'm glad that it makes you happy. and OMG you did the Snoopy Dance!!!
I hope it's ok that I posted it without checking first :)

And yes, this made me SO so happy, you have no idea. *happy sigh*
Snoopy dance from me is rare, m'dear, so I hope you enjoyed it! *g*

*dies utterly and completely*
*revives somewhat, molests your icon in a most unseemly manner*
You did that on purpose, just to kill me, didn't you!? That photo - so gorgeous! He looks all sensitive and mysterious! And the hands! *whimper* Does this mean that you're feeling the SF love at all? *hopeful look*

If Wodehouse wrote slash, it would sound like this, I think.

[types nervously] By lucky chance, you're a Jeeves and Wooster fan. I have -- ahem -- claimed one of the Jeeves and Wooster prompts over at the hw_fest and I don't suppose -- cough, cough -- that you would care to be a beta for me? It would be so great to have someone who knows the fandom look it over for me and either a) help me correct it or b) tell me gently to find a new hobby to replace writing.
P.S. Have you heard of the Nancy Drew computer games? OMG, such fun. You play the role of Nancy and must walk about finding clues, solving puzzles, and engaging in witty repartee. Even though I am technically "grown up" I have never solved one in under 20 hours of game play, nor without copious note-taking, maps, and a visit or two to the message board for help ;-) This one (https://store.herinteractive.com/product_info.php?products_id=34) is my favourite, but they are almost all fantastic.

I've heard of the Nancy Drew games but only a long time ago and I'd forgotten about them. When I am not on the work computer I will look! :D

I can't thank you enough. The ideas are brewing and bits are being written down, but I can't say when I'll have something ready to go. But I'm quite excited about the prospect!

And you said you had claimed one of the J & W prompts? Does that mean there's more up for grabs? Is it too late to claim? I may have to look into that!
Anyway, my email is in my profile, so whenever you have something to look at, or if you even want to bounce ideas off of me & river, please do feel free to drop us a line!
I'm excited to see what you come up with! :)

Yes indeed, there are two J & W prompts (http://community.livejournal.com/hw_fest/16132.html), #22 and #101, though for some mysterious reason, my claim to #22 hasn't shown up yet [bites back worried tears]. Lots of time left to claim!
P.S. I recently made a little House/Wilson fanvid (http://community.livejournal.com/house_wilson/578634.html) to a song from the musical By Jeeves! It's a parody of House/Cameron, if you are interested...
I'll e-mail you two privately as soon as I have a draft done. (Gotta get some of that school stuff done too though.) Thanks again!
