I met a snowboard instructor on a plane once who spent the year traveling between England, North America, New Zealand and Australia, so he could always be where it was winter.

I need the summer version of that job. STAT.

That sounds like my version of HELL. :O

I'm over the nightly freeze&frost, which still isn't as bad as what Seattle's getting. :(

Hang in there!

It will be gone next week and back in the 40s/50s. In the summer, there will be about a week of like, OMG IT'S SO HOT I'M GOING TO DIE. The rest of the time is all that nice mild thing I like. With occasional bursts of raining sideways.

At least the days are starting to get longer amirite?

the days getting longer is definitely a good thing. and in the summer they are very long! which is awesome. the parking lot could do with more salt in the meantime

It's 39 degrees C in Australia right now, which is 102.2 fahrenheit. And humid. It's like walking through pea soup out there. This is how the other half lives :D?

lol yeah, I mostly miss california weather. that does sound appalling. though I eventually kind of got used to it on my road trip. but only through judicious application of air conditioning.

As a lifelong native of Western New York (not counting my five years of grad school in DE), I understand where you're coming from. I laughed (not at you) at your observation, though, because this morning, for instance, the radio weather said there was a storm warning for my county, so I hopped out of bed, got ready early, cleared the car, etc., and was on the road ten minutes sooner than usual, and it was all practically on instinct, which is to say that if you stay in Seattle long enough, I suspect you will eventually become inured to these sorts of weather events. Whether you ever WANT to become inured is another story entirely. ;-)

Anyway, warm, ice-melting *hugs* to you, my friend.

that whole thing were you have to listen to the radio and watch the news. I am too used to not ever caring what the forecast is, because it's pretty much irrelevant to my day to day living. My mom, on the other hand, spends half her time watching the satellite pictures on her weather ap. it sounds like you've found the happy medium!

I would be happier if there were just a bit more salt/grit in the parking lot though. it's a death trap walking to my car, which can either be parked close, or can be parked under cover.
