I had a super fraught time even watching it, as none of the streams or purchase dl places had it yet, and the first two dls I tried didn't work at all, and the third worked great UNTIL I GOT TO 32 MINUTES IN AT WHICH POINT IT FROZE, and then I am on a time crunch this morning and the fourth dl said it would take an hour, but then LO, MTV's site finally had it up, so I could watch the last ten minutes.

ALL THE FUCKING FEELINGS.

I can't honestly remember a show where guys were creepy as fuck toward girls then got called on it, and treated as if they were creepy as fuck and not to be trusted. It was terrifying when Matt was trying to get Alison to come in with him, and god, Crystal did a fucking AMAZING job showing what that's like, when you feel like you have to be polite, and you're scared, and you just want to get away, but you aren't totally sure what to do, but she held her ground and she left, and just. It didn't feel gratuitous even. It felt like, this is the shit girls have to deal with, and that is WHACKED.

And oh my fucking god, Crystal and Holland and Dylan. RIP MY FUCKING HEART OUT WHY DON'T YOU.

STILES. STILES AND HIS DAD.

AND LYDIA. SHE IS SO FUCKING ALONE AND I WANT TO HOLD HER AND SIT HER DOWN AND TELL HER EVERYTHING THAT'S HAPPENED SO FAR ON TEEN WOLF.

AND ALISON. GAH. (although wtaf. nothing says I love you like stabbing myself in the heart ON THE BED WHERE YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE ABLE TO FUCKING SLEEP. WHAT THE HELL WAS MAMA TERRORARGENT THINKING???)

BOYD. I LOVE YOU. I love how he was all over what spirals mean and not scared to speculate what they mean to Derek. He's not scared of being ~wrong. He's thirsty for knowledge. He and Lydia should totally get together and share information. and then organize the hell out of the pack.

lolol that Holland would be able to drag a dead-weight Hoechlin across rough terrain. Clearly she was borrowing Alpha powers. da;sldfsda;lfkd HOW CREEPY WAS THAT FINAL SCENE VISUALLY. WELL DONE, SHOW.

also, feels help me, but I couldn't help thinking, if Derek isn't Alpha anymore that will leave him open to character development that might let him get it together with Stiles. I can't help it.

STILES BROUGHT DRAG QUEENS. I bet they were shoving their numbers in his pockets while they were petting him, and he was like, yeah, cool, I need low-stress petting sometimes, I'll just stick these in my phone.

OH THAT REMINDS ME. After the scene in the gay bar when Stiles' dad tells him he's not gay because of the clothes he's wearing. And I saw people on tumblr saying they hated that because clothes don't make you gay. AND THIS IS TRUE.

BUT. I do think that line is more complicated than people were making it out to be. It didn't faze me at all, because in context, I think Sheriff Stilinski was totally right.

A sixteen-year-old boy who has realized he's gay and is going to a gay bar for the first time (especially in a place where he has had exposure to gay culture as it seems Stiles has) is much, much more likely to go there dressed to impress. a gay teen can (and does) absolutely wear baggy jeans and a shapeless hoodie to school and for hanging with his friends. But if he was in that bar because he is gay, which is what he was trying to get his dad to believe, I think it's TOTALLY reasonable for his dad to be suspicious of his outfit. And I don't think it's the same thing as saying that clothes make the queer.

But I do see that the distinction is subtle, and probably isn't going to come across in a TV show with a wider audience than just queer folks who have been through that first visit to a gay bar, and therefore comes across as just humour that isn't really funny. I think a kid that would bring a present wider than the door to the girl he's in love with is going to wear a tight t-shirt and better fitting jeans to a gay bar if he's going there because he's gay, though. And I think Stiles' dad knows this about him. ymmv obvs :D

speaking of things people often say about gay people that irritate me...



I have always REALLY hated it when people said "it's such a waste" because someone is gay. But today I understood just a little bit, because I looked at these pictures of Colton Haynes, and my first thought was, it is such a waste if the rumours are false and this guy isn't queer. And then I got all frownyface at myself. But seriously, Colton, I hope you are having LOTS OF SEX with awesome dudes. And ladies, if that's your thing, but dudes also. Because DAY-UM. I AM SHALLOW. SORRY I'M NOT THAT SORRY.
