Finally got a chance to see Sherlock Holmes today. OH MY GOD. I loved it.
miss_begonia and I were laughing much harder than anyone else in the theater, but COME ON. it was hilarious. Also, not particularly slashy. because it was just actualfax GAY. If there was any way at all to read the text that didn't have Holmes and Watson in a romantic and sexual relationship in their past, I could not see it. Like, at all.
Law and RDJ have incredible chemistry, and clearly enjoy each other wholeheartedly, which makes for a lot of fun with all the high-octane stunts. The character actors were fantastic, and the plot made a whole lot more sense than the one in the first movie (though that doesn't mean it made ALL the sense, by any means), and I really want to see it again. I saw the first one in the theater three times, and while I doubt that will happen with this one, largely because there are actually a ton of films I want to see at the moment, I wouldn't mind if it did.

I can't wait to see the movie. At Christmas time, my husband and I save all our movies until around Christmas day because we have to spend a ridiculous time with my in-laws (let's see, there's little little Christmas eve (22nd), little Christmas eve (23rd), Christmas eve (24th, of course), and then Christmas from morning until after dinner. Hours and HOURS of babies crying, walking, spitting up on me, and my mother-in-law. GUH. Movies are my only respite. (=

That was pretty much the review I gave to everyone else. I've seen it twice in theatres and I think it might be gayer the second time.
