I don't want you to infer from this that I think Californians as a group are great drivers, because LOL, NO, but Fuck, yeah, people who can MERGE. And drive at speed even when there are more than five other cars on the road.

You MAY infer that I am home now. Safe. Though not sound, because it's 103F (about 40C) here today. I HAVE HAD ENOUGH HEAT, THANKS. Apparently though, I brought a freak heat-wave with me that is meant to last three days. *weeps*

Update post tomorrow when hopefully there will be a time of day where it's cooler in this house.

OMG! Yes! I have the same feeling whenever I come back from Ohio. I mean... driving is just different there :P I miss the craziness of La drivers when i'm not here!!

it's a dry heat though, and i'll take that any day over the humidity the east coast and midwest has.

he's totally indifferent, but did submit to skritching and cuddles for a moment. mostly he's hiding from the heat. and he's obsessed with mom's chair he only wants to sit on me if I'm in it. so mostly he sits on mom, because she's the one in her chair most of the time.

and yeah. it's MUUUUUUUUUUUUCH better than the rest of the country.

I did make it! And have even had a night's sleep in my own bed now :D

I'm already chaffing a bit being with my parents, especially as my mom is sick, so she's grumpy and moody. But I shall remain positive!

I didn't know I had you to blame/thank for the heat. I'm enjoying it (mainly because this apartment does have AC, but it's south facing without any shade, so if it didn't it'd be 460 degrees in here by now.)

omfg this weather! I rarely wish for ac but holy hell. We have roller blinds up outside the ENORMOUS bank of south-facing windows in the main part of the house, but they are not enough. I'm in the north-facing and also under a tree room at the front of the house and it's tolerable rn. we'll see about later. There may be a movie I suddenly need to see. It was 96 in the family room when I got home yesterday.

also, hi! let me know if you want to "get coffee" or something sometime. :D

Child is now in daycare on Mondays and Tuesdays, so if you wanna meet up during the daytime during the week, those are probably the best days if you don't want to meet him as well. But my schedule is fairly flexible (barring a wedding in Arizona I'm roadtripping to in early September).

(I grew up in the tropics (OK, only juuuuust, but still) in a house without AC anywhere but the master bedroom. I totally get the pain of the coolest room in the house being 90+ degrees)

It should assuredly NOT be a real temperature outwith ovens. And here it FEELS like an oven. Most of the rest of the US it feels like a sauna. I prefer the oven. Mostly I prefer the 16-18 degree temps tho.
