Oh my god.
dreamlittleyo and I went and saw Inception today and we were LITERALLY the only two people in the WHOLE THEATER so we could talk and gasp and do little clappy hands all we wanted without bothering anyone. In non-spoilery news, this movie is GORGEOUS. Probably the most visibly stunning film I've ever seen except for Where the Wild Things Are.
HOLY FUCK EVERY PERSON IN THIS MOVIE IS FUCKING STUNNING. Except Pete Postlethwaite. Even not having a clue what this movie was about I would have wanted to see it because I love Leo, Joseph, and Ellen so much. But holy fuck. HOLY FUCK. If you looked into my head and teased everything I wanted from a movie out of my subconscious YOU WOULD MAKE THIS MOVIE. Well, this movie with a little bit more gay sex and UST between the female characters. BUT MOSTLY THIS MOVIE.
I want to have dinner with Christopher Nolan SO FUCKING BADLY I CANNOT EVEN. The man is INSANE AND BRILLIANT. I know, I know, YMMV, but I think so, and this is my review ;P
Joseph. I have loved him like pie since he was on Third Rock From the Sun. I adore that he is still working. I adore that he choses amazing crazy indy movies like Brick and Latter Days. I adore that he is somehow INCREDIBLY SEXY even while he's being all cute and boy-next-door-y. and I adore that HE CAN ACT HIS FACE OFF. Plus, OH. MY. FUCKING. GOD. The stunts this boy does in this movie. Even if half the time it's a stunt guy (and I have no idea either way), it's still TOTALLY AMAZING.
I've loved Leo since What's Eating Gilbert Grape, to the point that I even went back and adored him in Critters 3... He is BRILLIANT in this.
Ellen. ELLEN IS SO AWESOME. She's smart and pushy and clever and sexy and Yo and I just LOVED HER SO MUCH we kept doing toddler fists of glee when she was on the screen. I love her in Juno, I love her even more in Whip It, and I love her EVEN MORE THAN THAT in this movie.
Plus, Lukas Haas, Ken Watanabe, Dileep Rao, Cillian Murphy, Tom Hardy, and Marion Cotillard being stunning and awesome by turns.
I have no thinky thoughts to share until I see the movie again. Though I really want to read some Arthur/Eames slash.
OH MY GOD I LOVE THIS MOVIE.
