rivers_bend at 09:44pm on 04/06/2006 under poetryBefore I wrote fanfic I wrote poetry, and sometimes I go back to my roots.
Though I come here not only
in weariness, but to escape writing,
I am drawn to that same thing.
Because to write of you
is to be with you
in the only way I have these days.
My missing you so acute
it takes physical form.
These words on the paper
the shape of my longing.
Like a photograph, a useful aide d'memoir,
of words passed between us
of hands held
and smiles.
And like a photograph
it seems all i have left of you.

but thank you so much! I have MUCH less confidence in my poetry than I do in my fanfic. So it's good to hear it doesn't totally suck.
