February fic roundup

Two seems to be the magic number for 2010. this month there really should be three fics, but I am having trouble getting to the end of my second help_haiti fic. (I'm so sorry, littledrop!)

Be My Valentine 8000 words. Sam/Dean NC-17 Everyone should have the chance to go to a formal dance at least once in his life.

shiver, river, quiver 1800 words. Sam/Dean NC-17 Dean is always right there to protect his brother, no matter what.

I've managed a lot less work on my novel than I'd hoped, despite a positive meeting with my thesis adviser, though I think I have solved one of the problems I have been mulling over, so I suppose I've been doing work without writing. I've also done a fair amount of reading things like Charles Baxter's The Art of Subtext and less-useful things like Under the Dome. I still find my most useful writing days are the ones I spend in the cafe with skyblue_reverie. I think I need to figure out another thing to do like that each week. There's apparently a nice cafe owned by a friend of my mom's a couple of miles away. I'll have to try that out. That, and stop playing Plants vrs Zombies

I am SO ADDICTED to Plants vs. Zombies, it's not even funny. I had to buy it, back when it was half off in December. It's ridiculous, and yet completely satisfying.

I got the iPod version for my Touch (only $2.99!), which is DEADLY because it means that I can take it to bed with me. And everywhere else. omg I will never sleep again.

I DID NOT KNOW IT WAS AVAILABLE IN THE APP STORE BUT IT IS DOWNLOADING TO MY IPHONE AS I TYPE. Chuzzle has been my in-bed game of choice for ages, but that's all over now. Sleep is officially a thing of the past. *g*

I'd totes be up for meeting up more often if you want. I tend to be productive those days too, and it's nice to just get out of the house. Lemme know if you want to meet at "our" cafe tomorrow! Even if you don't go, I might, just to get out and about a little.

I'm completely addicted to Plants vs Zombies. I tried uninstalling it from both my computers, then reinstalled it a week later onto my desktop because I COULDN'T LIVE WITHOUT IT. Then I hid it away in a sub-sub-sub-sub-sub-sub-sub folder, thinking the difficulty getting to it would put me off a bit.... NOPE! *despairs*.....

For now (hopefully forever) I only have it on my iPod, which means that the batteries run out and I have to re-charge them, and if I am doing things on the computer, it's not right there. but lord above, I am burning my eyes out of my skull playing deep into the night. And last night I dreamed about zombies, which I was fighting with the cast of Friday Night Lights. IDEK.

My trouble with original fiction, is I am always compelled to fill in back story, and setting and scene which isn't as necessary with fan fic. And I love all that, so it's fun. but it does take longer, because you have to think of it all first :D
