So I opened my netflix discs and out popped Wedding Wars. I added it to my queue after [livejournal.com profile] dreamlittleyo and I were talking about the fact that Sean Maher does nothing for me, even though just about everything about him is my 'type' including the fact that he's really pretty gay. I then discovered that he plays John Stamos' boyfriend in this movie. And Dr. McSteamy plays John's brother. It's a romantic comedy about gay marriage. WHAT'S NOT TO LOVE?

If you took two gay men and told them to write a mary-sue fan fic movie in the politics fandom for A&E, you would get this film. It is absolutely predictable down to the very last line, and yet is no less fun for all that. The exec producer is, as I type this, explaining to me that it's a FABLE. It's FUN. and a little bit badficcy let's be honest

one of my favourite GLBT movies is Big Eden (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0212815/) which is a sort of fable. It has an un-realistically accepting small town, but it's still a really lovely story

I saw Wedding Wars a little while ago. It was GREAT! And Sean Maher really is the perfect proper Gay American Man. A straight male friend of mine watched this movie because of him (a Browncoat). This gave me much pleasure. lol

Sean was great. And I did fancy him slightly more than I did in Firefly, but still not really. And I just don't get it.

S'ok. It's not like I'm head-over-heals. I can forgive you for not loving him ;)

I liked the movie, too. Yeah, badficcy, but that was okay. The Stamos is looking so GOOD these days. Better, dare I say it, than the Uncle Jesse years.

I felt that the movie was trying to do something really good and it had a good heart at its core. Sometimes a bit preachy but not wrong.

Plus, you know, STAMOS. *snerk*

Yeah, the years have been good to John Stamos. It's true. and the movie definitely had a good message :D
