Danny was pumped. Three games, he won them all. They had the information they needed for the warrant and he was still the handball king. He was flying high. He loved using his brain on the job, but he missed the sweaty male testosterone buzz of the neighborhood courts.
The buzz was still with him in the showers. The smell of sweat as he pulled off his shirt gave him a little thrill. He thought back to the crowds cheering and booing and egging them on. And to the guys he’d been playing. With their muscled arms and attitudes.
The water was hot and the soap slippery. His hands stung a little from the slap of the ball, but that only added to the sensations as he took himself beyond the buzz to the bang.
