It has been driving me CRAZY for weeks, wondering where I knew the woman in the TMobile ad with the eleven bulldogs named Steve from.

Then, tonight, I wasn't watching, only listening, and it's Veronica's mother from Heathers.

Oy.

and only changing the subject slightly, I have to say again, the Watchmen ad is made of sex.

Yep, can't argue with that. They've certainly made them compelling, and I don't usually have any desire to see movies like that.

I generally love comics movies. Even though I have never read a comic or a graphic novel in my life. (okay that second part is a lie, I did read Blankets (http://www.amazon.com/Blankets-Craig-Thompson/dp/1891830430/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1234941154&sr=8-1), but it's not really something they are likely to make a movie out of, and there are no heroes) Point being. I would probably want to see this anyway. But I DEFINITELY want to see it now.

Oh YESSSSSS. Dude, I can't wait to see this movie. I'm scared I can't handle the comics, much as I love comics, because I'm told they're very dark and depressing and EEF, they're long. But a couple hours of it in a movie? A couple of hours of eef is going to be FANTASTIC. :D

HI HI! ♥

For some reason I cannot wrap my head around how graphic novels and comics work. like I can't process words and pictures at once or something. I don't know what it is. But I love comics movies. I've not seen a few of the latest darker ones, like Sin City, but I enjoyed V for Vendetta, and I think this one looks right up my alley! Story and people in super-suits! :D

I actually cannot wait for Watchmen to come out. I just... I have to try not to think about it at all or else I get all fretful. :(

Now you have me curious why, but I shan't make you think of it anymore, I shall just say, HI, HONEY! HI! and Will you come to Denver in October? PLEASE!

I would love to come to Denver, and I haven't ruled it out, but I'm not sure I'm going to be able to afford to. New job is lovely but not exactly highly-paid. :/ But, I do very much want to, so it is very high on my list of priorities! *clings and loves*

See I recognized the women from TMobile commercial right away as the grandmother, Penny, from Charmed. Though when I watched Charmed I always thought of her as the mother from Heathers (one of my favorite movies!)

FINALLY!!!! Thank you!!! That commerical has been driving me bugshit trying to figure out where I've seen that woman before.

Ha! I just called my boyfriend to tell him the mystery is solved! LOL

I get like that, I'm really good with faces and I'll know I've seen an actor in some other show or movie and it'll drive my batshit until I remember where from.

I've never seen Charmed, so have missed entirely seeing her in any kind of grandmotherly light. She was a lot younger in Heathers! :D

She looked younger in Charmed too, she hadn't gone gray yet, the hair color really affects perceptions of age.

That aside, my friends and I used to quote Heathers all the time, we watched it over and over again. I had such a crush on Christian Slater. Though my favorite movie with him from that time period was Gleaming the Cube. Oh skater!Christian. :)

Gleaming the Cube! OMG IT'S BEEN SO LONG! I totally forgot about that movie. You've made me want to watch it again. I was a big Pump up the Volume fan, though it didn't stand up well to re-watching recently. I've seen Heathers probably more than any other movie ever. At least 30 times, that's when I stopped counting. I still quote it all the time :D

And my very favourite movie that he was in was the Legend of Billie Jean, but that was much less about Christian and much more about Billie Jean (and a little about Helen)

OMg, I had Heathers flashbacks when I read the subject of your post! Soooo long since I've seen that film!

I got the 20th Anniversary DVD when it came out, and so I saw it pretty recently. It's still just as wonderful as it was then. And there aren't many films I can say that about.

I think I orgasm every time I see the Watchmen trailer. I don't know anything about it but god, it just does something to me....

I am convinced there is some kind of subliminal messaging going on there. It is just GUH in a way that the actual content doesn't strictly warrant.
