It's been so long since I could even tolerate hearing the president of the United States speaking. Not only was I tolerating, I was interested, engaged, and is it possible? enjoying it. The man is smart. Articulate. He thinks on his feet. He answered the questions that got asked.

Color me impressed.

Dru. I don't even know. There was talk of a generation who cannot remember a time before the George W soundbite, and I am not that generation. But I feel as though I cannot remember a time when what the president had to say wasn't horrifying and humiliating. I actually got tearful, and not just over the state of the economy.

I was so grateful that I not only understood what he was saying, but that it made sense as to the question raised. There finally came the time when I hid my head in the sand to even avoid the very sound of dub's voice--talk about Change.

It's been the same in Australia. And wjile K-Rudd is nowehere near as awesome as Obama, it is wodnerful to see our elader on Tv and not be filled either with hatred or huge embarrassment squick. Seeing him crying along with victims of this weeks fires has been really moving.

Even with the low bar his predecessor set, he was so high above it, you couldn't even SEE it.

and here I was actually worried, when I made that tab on election night, that it was going to only be useful once. HA. *loves the president*

I was just saying this to Mr Tweed the other day, when President Obama was speaking about the economy. He is an absolute pleasure to listen to.

I had similar feelings about our own PM, when he made the Stolen Generations apology, and when he was comforting survivors of the bushfires this week.

They both bring a dignity that their predecessors failed to convey.

i just could not believe that I turned on the TV to watch last night's desperate housewives, and ended up watching three hours of NEWS instead. I LOVE it.

I feel like I've just been given this amazing new wondrous lear jet when all I had before was a single rollerskate with a missing wheel.

I didn't know that it was possible anymore for me to actually grow to like the president more each day that he's in office. But...I do. It's amazing. =)

It's completely awesome! He's intelligent, thoughtful, and he does actually answer the questions he is asked.

It is a pleasure to listen to him speaking. That is a wonderful change.

It's crazy right? I've spent the last 8 years hitting the mute button on the TV every single time someone even implied Bush was going to speak. Now I'm like, hey, wait, rewind that I want to hear that again.

It's totally crazy. For so many years I've been the girl who won't watch the news. And now I find myself doing it for three hours at a stretch!
