IMHO, I found Out of Nowhere to be better than In the Middle of Somewhere (not only in terms of editing--which led to a tighter narrative--but because I had a fairly clear idea of the journey In the Middle of Somewhere was gonna take me. For me, Out of Nowhere's plot read fresher). Mind you, I think both books are great and I'm definitely looking forward to the 3rd one in the series (which will get published sometime next year, I think).
Tied to Trouble was exactly the way you described it. Mind you, it was the 3rd M/M book by Megan Erickson that I read in a row so I didn't mind that it went more into PWP territory in a way that the In Focus series didn't. Funnily enough, I'd gotten curious about Megan's novels because of Strong Signal. Santino is one of the v. few auto-buy authors for me, but I'd never read anything by Megan before. Unfortch, I've yet to read Strong Signal (though I'm hoping to get to it sometime before the end of the month).
Oh, and I totes agree with reading Seasons Pass AFTER one's read at least the first two books in the Enlightenment series. FTR, I've yet to crack opened Enlightened (but that's only because I'm doing a GR challenge and there are 8 books before I can get to it. #suckage).
I struck out with two of Jordan Castillo Price's published works way back when I began reading M/M (Sympathy and Hemovore). Although I could recognize that JCP is a good writer, neither writing worked for me. As a result, I've pretty much avoided her stuff. *hands*

I picked it up after loving Strong Signal so much, which I picked up because yeah, Santino. I struggled some with Sutphin Boulevard, because i have some triggery issues with alcohol use and they got hit pretty hard, but I absolutely loved Sunset Park, and I think he's an amazing author.
omg I cannot imagine not reading enlightenment right after the first two. I am absolutely terrible at waiting when it comes to books though. what is this challenge? you have to read books in a certain order?
JCP's summaries have never really called to me, and I forget what made me pick up the mnevermind series. I didn't rush out to try a bunch of the other stuff, after, though :)

The HEA in Out of Nowhere was so hard-earned that it kinda became the main reason why I'm so particular about that book.

For the Cover Match challenge, you sign up to read 15, 30, or 30+ books in a period of 6 months. Repeats aren't allowed. You start with one book (like, In the Middle of Somewhere) and then read the next book based on a thing (image, font, etc) that it shares with the previous book (like, if your next book is Lone Star, you can go by "two men on the cover" or "bare torso" or even something as minimal as "cabin image on the cover").
What I like about it is that you can plan the books you're going to read (unlike other challenges that just spring a book on you). I'm doing 15 books and going v. slowly about it (though I'm aiming at getting done with a few more books before the month is over).
To me, JCP summaries are v. old school so I mostly shrugged her novels off (after trying the ones I mentioned in my earlier comment). The funny part is that there seems to be a JCP resurgence in the last year or so because you're the eight or tenth person to mention having read her books quite recently.
