Next verse, same as the first, only this time, a little bit louder!

Everything. Everything wonderful about the first movie was in here. The actors gleefully chomped their way through the scenery with unbridled enthusiasm, I laughed til I was crying several times, and I worried that Dad might get us thrown out for laughing so hard. There were gadgets and puzzles and plots and counter-plots and sets, OMG the sets! and Nick being Nick and Helen Mirren being absolutely stunning and glorious, and the only bad thing I have to say is if you are the sort of person who gets motion sick with jerky cameras, there is a scene near the beginning that will get to you. I'd recommend renting if that is the case for you.

A thoroughly diverting evening, and I even have some groceries that I couldn't get at Trader Joes last week. And a new bedside table that mom found for $4 at a garage sale. Plus, I've got clean sheets and an episode of Sarah Connor to watch. (at least I'd better)

A little bit louder but not a little bit worse? *g*

I'm glad you enjoyed it! I'm sure the Penguin will subject me to it ad nauseum when it comes on HBO.

Maybe even better :D it's hard to tell, it's been a long time since I saw the first one. It's definitely one of those, you have to like that sort of thing films, but if you do, it's good.

Good luck with the HBO thing. I'm not sure how many times I would need to see it... :)

Yay! Thanks for the rec. I loved the first one, as I told you, and didn't care a whit what criticism anyone else had for it. I LOVE the scene-chewing and the sort of fun that you can tell the actors are having with it all, and besides, it's not supposed to be a great cinematic masterpiece to last the ages, it's supposed to be entertainment. So there. I'm thrilled to hear it's great, but I will be one of those renting, as I have a serious motion-sickness problem, but only in theatres or if I read in the car. I appreciate the warning, as nausea is no fun at all and takes all the laughter right out of a good movie.

Yeah. I don't get motion sick at all, and even I was clutching my stomach a bit. Given it's one of the best scenes from other standpoints I'd go with a rental for sure.

And definitely. It's not a great cinematic masterpiece. but it's TONS of fun. And unlike Pirates, where they completely forgot everything that made the first film delicious crack, they kept their winning formula. and my mom has a total crush on Riley Poole. Every time I tried to say something about the movie, she said, "But what about that geeky one who could do things? I like him. He's adorable." *glee*
