I have been to the doctor this morning. In good news, she took my blood pressure and it is 'perfect.' Which is a huge improvement on 'oh dear' which is what it was when the 'lady doctor' took it. Amazing the difference a couple of milimetres of mercury can make. (ok, 14 mm)
In other news, she's referring me to the ENT bods at the hospital (Ear Nose and Throat for those jargon free types out there), and has signed me off work until 23 April. I'm starting to get worried that I won't be going back to work before I leave. And I actually really want to. Phoned work and they are really busy. 32 births already this month (we aim to average just under 1 a day) and still busy.
In good news, I got the official letter about my course that mom sent the other day.
I am pleased to tell you that the faculty of the Creative Writing Department has approved y our application to the Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing, in Fiction, and will recommend that you be accepted by the Graduate Division of the University. Since the competition this year was formidable, I especially congratulate you on the quality of your manuscript. Please note that you will be welcome to take classes in genres other than the one in which you are admitted, with the permission of the instructor.
We look forward to working with you in the fall. Please let us know by Monday, April 30th if you will accept your place in our program, if you need to defer your starting date, or if you will be unable to attend. After Monday, May 21st we will send you advising information. Registration information will come from the Graduate Division Office.
If you are having any problem with the SFSU Graduate Division regarding your SCU Application for Gratuate Studies, please contact us ummediately, we'll probably be able to help. [blah blah, not applicable to me as I'm not a currently enrolled student]
Welcome to the creative Writing Program.
Sincerely, Maxine Chernoff, Chair
So I'm happy about that. I am not exactly sure how to go about letting them know I plan to take the spot they've offered, when I got into UCSC I had a form to fill out. I suppose I just write them a letter.
And now I'd best eat some lunch.

I'm glad you are getting a specialists referral - and I hope this means you will be on the way to freedom from your dreadful illness. I hope the appt is soon?

I too hope that this means I will be sorted soon. One never knows how soon an appointment will come. She'll send the letter off today and then they will put me in the system and either write or phone me with appointment details.
I shall let you know as soon as I know though :)

Also, congrats again on getting accepted. I knew you were that good. :D

Oh there's never one birth a day. they are much more like buses. None for three days and then four in 24 hours. Though the most we ever had was 7 in 24 hours. That was too many. We need over 300 a year to be viable for cost and 400 would be better. We've been low this year, but seem to be making up for it. If we have 30 a month that seems to be good.

It starts when, September? What an upheaval!

Yes, I've had labyrnthitis for nearly seven weeks now. I am getting mightily sick of it. At least we've been thinking it's labyrnthitis. I guess that's what the ENT folks will tell me.

I hope the ENT will be able to find out what's wrong.

I too hope the ENT people have an answer. It's not a good feeling. I appreciate the kind thoughts.

And go you and your blood pressure! Woot! Hopefully that will help a lot. I have really low blood pressure and that's why I get dizzy attacks sometimes so a change to normal is a good sign! *hugs*

I come from a line of high blood pressure on both sides, so when it was high when the lady doctor took it I was kind of worried. I definately need to exercise more and get fitter and lower my BP and heartrate. This vertigo has made me even more a lazy cow than usual, and that's not helping! But I was happy when it was lower when my proper doctor took it.
*hugs back*
