This last week has been filled with gifts. I got to talk to my brother on Christmas day; he was spending it with family (my dad's sisters and brother etc.) and sounded well. He has not always sounded happy in the last several years so it was wonderful that he did. Yesterday my colleague at work didn't much like the sound of my coughing (and I suspect did like the sound of the extra money that comes with doing it) and offered to trade her day shift on friday for my night shift tonight. I dithered and felt guilty for about fifteen minutes before taking her up on it. I think I need to bring her a bottle of wine or something, because it's a tremendous favour for me not to have to do it.

I've also had many wonderful stories written for me.

tigertrapped wrote me another chapter in the debauched life of Max, Marked, which left me completely breathless. Exquisite and agonising at once. There's also Glass, Max all grown up. If you are unfamiliar with Max, his other adventures can be linked to from here.

karaokegal wrote me not only the promised CSI:NY Mac/Danny story but also Hot original femslash. TWO fluffy, hot, plot-tastic (well, ok, maybe not so much in the femslash) stories at once, I am spoiled. She'll be on angst til August now I'm sure, but it was worth it ;) If you are a femslash fan, do me a favour and encourage her to write more adventures of the Beta Babes. We all need more hot girls in catsuits! If angst is more your thing, there is plenty of that over there too at the moment.

Speaking of femslash... OMG, paperclipbitch wrote me hot/pretty/angsty/sweet/not spoilering me for the second half of season two Lost femslash with every pairing imaginable. It made me do a grinning shiny happy dance. She's been in a frenzy of gift writing, so head to her journal and check out the sometimes bizzare but always somehow right (how does she do that?) pairings in House, Torchwood, and oh so hot Casino Royale

Continuing the femslash theme (YAY!) fallen_arazil wrote me (how much gorgeous curly hair in one place?) Cuddy/Stella in a completely plausible and gorgeously HOT CSI:NY/House crossover. Djinn has also been writing shiny stories for lots of people so head over to her journal and read them.

I am also in love (as I mentioned the other day) with my yuletide stories. here and here. I do hope you've all been and checked out at least some of the amazing stories people have written. Surely almost every fandom you've ever thought, 'no one has written in that fandom' is represented. From G to NC17, slash/femslash/het/gen, books/films/tv/RPF. Funny, touching, crack, tragic, moving, glorious... There are far too many to rec.

I hope that everyone has had lovely things for themselves recently. There are a few more gift!fics in the works over here, they are on their way!
