It's been fascinating listening to you and finding out more about your fandom origins. I too started in Bandom without having heard the bands. Unholyverse was recommended to me and I printed a pic of MCR out from the interwebz, dutifully labelled it with the name of each member and began to read! It wasn't unitl Bluesoaring and her basement shagfest (and your awesome contribution) that I started listening to them, and watched LOTMS - That vid should be compulsory viewing for everyone in the universe. Before the vid arrived I downloaded Black Parade, then Danger Days. I love both equally now but BP was initially my obsession for weeks. Also 'I'm not OK', especially because of my love of HS AU which MCR delivered in fucking SPADES with that vid. My GOD, I still go weak thinking about that, particularly when I found out is was made about 3 days into Gerard's sobriety, and then I read a fic about that time and I was LOST for days, they just lived in my head and wouldn't budge. I've just found the fic I mean I'm Not Sleeping (Trust Me) by Dira Sudis (dsudis)http://archiveofourown.org/works/27469. My love of sober Gee is the flip side of my fascination with drunk and wasted Gee, and my adoration of The Sharpest Lives as a song.

I have found the Panic! fic you were talking about, and am off to send it to my Kindle. Panic are another band I got into just through fic, but when I found they were coming to Manchester in January, I got tickets just because, and decided I had better listen a bit harder to them. I do like their most recent album a lot, and I like the band ethos etc. But I don't have that huge emotional connection with the music that I get with Adam and with My Chem. And as for the rest of bandom, I read the fic, I especialy love the Warped era fic and the cross-bandom fertilsation, and anyone's first time ever, but I don't like the music so much.

And finally I want to squee all over the house about your LBB being HS AU. Those fics in May almost killed me.
