The No on Prop 8 Predictive Dialer Phone Bank will allow volunteers to make voter contact calls from anywhere in the US. The Predictive Dialer automatically calls voters and sends these calls to your telephone.
You will need a computer with broadband internet access and telephone to join the Predictive Dialer Phone Bank. The Predictive Dialer Phone Bank will not work with a dial-up internet connection.

Thanks to the law in California that requires only a 50% majority to CHANGE THE STATE CONSTITUTION, there is a very real chance Proposition 8 could pass.
This measure amends the California Constitution to specify that only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California. as a result, notwithstanding the California Supreme Court ruling of May 2008, marriage would be limited to individuals of the opposite sex, and individuals of the same sex would not have the right to marry in California.
I cannot stress enough how much this would set back the gay and civil rights movements. The conservative right has plans in place to come back to California if they win here and work to get anti-hate crime and anti-bullying/safe-schools statutes removed next. They have deep coffers and no issue with using lies and fear tactics to get their way and to codify hatred.
Even if marriage isn't for you, and this isn't the fight you think we should be fighting, I am still asking you to help. Because this is the fight they've presented us with. And losing means losing a hell of a lot more than a couple of gold bands and the right to say "I do".
